  1. "Give the Jim Leavitt thing a rest" ::Proceeds to write a (factually inaccurate) paragraph about Jim Leavitts firing::
  2. It's true... While I can forgive the passing game woes when we had freshmen QBs running around, I can't defend this year with an experienced starter at the helm. Even if he arrived after spring ball, there still should be *some* improvement as the year goes on. Fact is we are getting nothing from Scott because he has nothing (or only 50%) to offer. Hire an offensive guy or a defensive guy...*someone* who has *something* to contribute and doesn't awkwardly walk around huddles during games.
  3. I have defended the job MK has done in the past BECAUSE of his fundraising and getting facilities on track. I only commented on his hiring record for football which is pretty much the worst hire in college football. I mean if you can't acknowledge that 1-22 or whatever it is against FBS is a hire that is not working out I don't know what to tell you. And I only commented on his hiring bc someone snidely said 'good thing he makes the calls and not me'...but that comment in itself is HILARIOUS. I honestly don't know how someone can type something like "thankfully MK makes the decisions" and hit send without realizing they walked into a bear trap. If your coaching hire has 1 FBS win in 3 years there is a **** good chance a fan could have picked a name out of a hat and done better than you. Doesn't mean they can do the rest of the AD job, but holy crap they could have lost as many games just as easily and odds are won more.
  4. Yeah it's working out really great with MK making the hires.
  5. Why can we only play good for half of pretty much every game? Why does it look like our coaching is non existent half the time? Well Scott was only ever a CO-offensive coordinator. For years he relied on someone else to do half his job for him. All we gotta do is find another coach who is only qualified for 50% of his job and team him with Scott as a CO-Head Coach by next week. With two 50%ers working at their full potential we can finally get a 100% game plan.
  6. U Shouldna Fired Because Unhappy Loser Lied-about Slapping
  7. Guys like Battie and Jimmy are waaaay too good to be suffering losses like this. Shame. If only there was someone at the top who could be responsible for getting all the individual playmakers in the right spot. You know like a top level coordinator or leader.... That's what we need.
  8. Sold. Don't need any other details after that point. Tired of doing the opposite.
  9. Actually this is just genius, Scott clearly knows USF well. Can't get fired for allegedly hitting a player if you never get near them.
  10. I'm more interested in the Post-Scott game comments
  11. Oh man I almost burst out laughing... Our record ever since Leavitt was fired is trash. But this is all the fault of a guy hired 9 years after that? Puhhhleaaasse. Yes his extensions look stupid but good lord they didn't retroactively cause McNeese state or..or.. you know what I don't even have the energy to list everything. I'll just say that during the broadcast of the UF game they mentioned that we haven't beat a top 25 team on the road since 2011 against ND. Kelly was hired in 2018. USF was P5 and had a hell of a coach to compensate for lack of football investment. After we lost *both* the conference and the coach, we had 0 advantages over the likes of UCF and others in the AAC. (So of course they all got better recruits and coaches!!!!) Who picks a job with leadership that doesn't invest as much other companies and expects you to do better than their competitors??? At least Kelly has tried to play catch up.
  12. If Scott doubles his wins from last year, looks competitive the rest of the way...that's probably enough to try peddling to the fans as progress. But who knows, MK *might* try to keep him with just 3 wins if the remaining losses are really close and he can say "coulda shoulda woulda beat UF". Ugh the games need to get here, I can't stand thinking about how bad it could end up. Let's see what really happens.
  13. We know for sure one pick six was receivers fault. There have also been lots of drops. And yes when ppl can't get open QB basically had to force. Still, he has also had bad throws. Still, he threw a bad pick with the game on the line at Florida that gave them the win. And yeah frankly he looks like a bust in this offense. It's just a perfect storm. Everyone's at fault and it's simply not working. We may as well go triple option at this point.
  14. Oh come on, that's just being silly and unrealistic. If he were on Scott's staff his posts would be full of second hand Clemson anecdotes.
  15. Disagree. That was a much needed win we failed to get, but Florida isn't good right now. I didn't want to rain too much on the positive 'almost got em' vibes last week, but to me UF was clearly a team coming off a losing season with a new head coach. While we needed the win for recruiting, AAC conference bragging rights and to appeal to higher conferences.... those positives from the win would have dried up if we failed the rest of the season. (And unfortunately it looks like we're on track for that) The only thing it *may* have bought is a more credible excuse for this week's loss as some would have been able to say "Well we put all our chips into beating Florida and wore out our players too much. Todays loss was due to hangover from a huge win and injuries". Problem with that excuse is that today was a VERRRRRY uncompetitive game, which is becoming the Jeff Scott special....So it woulda been hard for others like myself to believe. Last thing I'll say is the remainder of the games do matter though. And I too, sometimes tell myself "I'm done" after a bad loss... but still manage to find a way back. If nothing else you can look for individual performances like Battie. (I'm paranoid he's gonna get snapped up by a P5 team so gotta enjoy his play while I can.)
  16. The only reason to fire a coach early is to get a jump start on hiring so you don't miss out on good coaches. We will miss out on good coaches no matter what. Our ceiling is retread coaches and up and coming assistants who still have a job right now. Therefore there is no reason to fire him early.
  17. Honestly my first thought was "considering last week's debacle they need the practice". I then sort of got upset at fact they didn't try to convert... but it was painfully obvious we weren't good enough to get touchdowns today so I didn't get that worked up. Idunno I shoulda been more upset but was just numb by then.
  18. Hard disagree. Play meaningful games. The fact we're losing bad is an indictment of our coaching staff and result of years of leadership failures. If we don't plan to field a team that can be competitive against these guys, then what's the point of playing at all? There's a difference between being down multiple scores in the first quarter and just "losing a game" to a better team. No one, and I mean no one, should accept being down 38-7 and 28-0 at half time to BYU and Louisville as "on schedule". We went 'all in', gave up on a QB we were developing, and we look like a year 1 disaster team in these halves of football (and it's year 3). It's atrocious and cannot simply be due to their skill vs ours.
  19. He hasn't been helped by his receivers, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying in general we went all in sacrificing a potential investment and we're getting blown up in half our games still. So if the team doesn't get better it's all for nothing.
  20. Bohanon was on a national watch list before the start of the season. He had good wins and vastly better stats than Timmy. In no way shape or form was he the wrong choice at that time. Knowing what we know * now* though thru 3 games???? That's a different story. It's looking like a bust for this marriage between us and GB....so far.
  21. Yeah I don't want the fact that I created this thread to be seen as me utterly blaming the loss on the coaches. I'm glad we looked the way we did today. I just had these end of half situations stand out where I'm like "Why do that??". The time on the clock at the first half was especially egregious because if you miss, UF had like 2 timeouts to try and do hail Mary or whatever. God forbid it got blocked.
  22. Order of blame: 1. Refs 2. Refs 3-5. Refs ...6. GB for the ints and missed throws 7. Center for throwing away the ball with game on the line 8. Coaches for some questionable management during end of each half
  23. I know the odds are low... but If you chuck it to the end zone you have one chance to win, and can potentially still settle for a chance to kick and tie. The alternative is trying get short yardage that will not win the game, and still hope you can make a 40+ yarder just to tie. I know my way is not a sure fire thing...I'm not super mad at what happened I just like the idea of going down swinging instead of hoping a notoriously iffy position can come thru.
