The number of universities that can afford to pay players, title 9 provisions included, all in ie including scholarships, is probably less than 20. Were talking the notre dames and ohio states of the world. If this continues all of college sports is done for as we know it.

Its in strongs best interest to work a deal with USF. He is failing hard and will never coach again save for a low level team as it stands - this is an abysmal fall from inheriting a top 20 taggart team to this. Walk away, recoop, and coach again somewhere else next year. Cause going from 11-2 to 2-10 means your career is over.

Totally fine to direct that at coaches who get paid 5m to get fired...

Conference has nothing to do with it. You think the best coach ever at iowa state would turn down a chance to coach at ohio state? Theres always a bigger program. We need TRUST of the fan base. Athletics seems to always shoot itself in the foot. Strongs contract as drawn up by USF is 1000 times more problematic than our conference.

We beat SMU this weekend. We win the conference.

Man I didn't know we were so evenly matched with SMU... I thought they still sucked. I'm worried now that I'm looking at the lines.

Nailed it. I am, unpopularly, still a CCS fan. But this is the last year. It's 3 years into inheriting a 10 win team. Need to see a reason to believe. Like I said, beat UCF and/or win the conference. That's it.

It doesnt matter. OL is weak this year, next year its another unit, another one the year after that. We cant play these games hoping that one year every unit is perfectly experienced. Every other team has a weak unit too. I'm tired of doing this for over a decade... we have 9 more games and we need to figure out a way to win with the hand we have, period, this season and forever

This was an exciting win. Reminds me of early QF games where you can "see the light". The offense sparked against a weak GT team and an FCS team but its STILL a spark and it could catch fire. Forget the record for a moment. Look at the narrative. We got punched in the mouth against a big ten (CFP?) contender on day 1. We woke up a bit at GT. We looked alive today. Jordan is accurate, the defense is in your face, Ford is a speedster, Wilcox is a stud, and Sails is a machine. Livingstone too. I see talent but I also see youth. I see passion but I also see youthful errors. And look at Bell tonight. Getting fired up at McCloud and the entire O really while routing SC st. I love it. USF plays its best football when its in your face, mean, fast, good ol streetball. I see trouble on the schedule in Memphis, Temple, Navy... and university of clown football. I don't want to speculate about wins or losses (lets get 2 Ws first out of SMU and UConn, huh?). Buuuut if what we saw is who this team is (remember after Wisconsin... "this is not who we are"...) then we're in for some exciting football.

Bunch of downers here. This is a huge boost for the team. Did you see how they actually looked like they were having fun... they were balling... and this is an FCS opponent worrh respecting. No matter how you slice it 8 turnovers is not normal. It's a job well done.

According to joey on twitter the team doesnt know who is starting. Not sure how that helps your team crystallize around a qb or what it says about how much you (dont) trust your players. Blech

I became a life member this year. That was the right choice.

To put it in perspective we are where Oregon, Arizona and Arizona State, Utah, Colorado are. To be nationally recognized as on par with some of those schools is fantastic. Let's keep it up. I want to keep going...

I'll be mad when we dont win the conference or don't beat UCF. Until then it might as well be practice. That's where I'm at these days.

Very nice write up. Little to add. UConn and SMU will be huge games to set the tone for conference play. Perfectly winnable and nice ease into AAC play. Believe it or not our goal of conference championship is still in play and if D can dominate and McCloud/Wilcox/Ford can move the ball (w OL help) we win some games boys.

We win next week in a sloppy contest and get a much needed bye. No idea after that.
