  1. If Floyd cannot figure out how to consistently take a snap from under center, he's going to struggle in this offense, too. Bobby Eveld may be the better choice for this season.
  2. We're going up with my daughter and her boyfriend. Supposed to be staying with a friend of his, a Dean at Kellogg College. They're handling everything.
  3. Still excited. Can't wait for the spring game. Can't wait for August 31st. Can't wait for the schedule to be released, so I can finalize my travel plans for the Michigan State game. Have already flagged my seats for next year. Ya'll keep jumping off the bus. That way I'm guaranteed what I want.
  4. I've got no problem with Bresnahan. I personally do not have, and doubt the majority of those complaining have, the coaching experience to creditably criticize this hire. Of course, I'm not sure how many stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Coach T. This is your fan base. Enjoy!
  5. I could give a flip what you want. I would hope Coach T feels the same as I.
  6. The problem is, I doubt Cincinnati wants to partner with us. Neither does UF or FSU, mentioned in earlier posts in this thread, for that matter. Both sided gotta wanna. Beggars can't be choosers, and right now, like it or not, we're beggars, so you take what you can get. Or we can be proud and stubborn, stomping our feet and demanding **** like a 2 year old, and get left standing out in the cold to freeze to death. I know Cincinnati looks down on us and wants to leave us in the cold. They apparently do see us as unworthy of sharing a conference with them. But, I said they probably make the most sense for us to associate with on our level. Not that UC wants to associate with us. Whether Cincinnati likes it or not, UC and USF are generally on the same level as conference prospects. I agree completely. However, the option is not there, because of UC's bias, no matter how much sense it makes.

Unless a conference has suggested we link up with them, I don't consider it proud and stubborn to not be tied to them ... But to discount it out of hand is.

  9. Nothing we can do about it, but piss and moan. Luckily, that is what we do best.
  10. Probably talking about Tim Burk. He must be a local. He's been sucking since I last attended games in 2000. He got an NCAA Tourney game a few years ago and they sang his praises...but it's the same old racket. The union wins and any sense of accountability fades. He blows, the other ref had to over rule him on a mistake call. Was that the call when a ref called traveling on USF even though a Mason player was esentially on the ground tripping us up? Yup. The old boy sucked with a capital uck. According to the box score on ESPN the officials were Jim Burr, Jamie Luckie, Clarence Armstrong.
  11. New USF assistants, Wells and Sheridan, called the plays last night. Having watched most of WKU's games from last season, you could tell, it was Willie's offense.
  12. Lansris provided little at LB. For someone who provided little, I sure heard "Tackle by Mike Lanaris." an awful lot.
  13. While I'm going to miss Daniels, Lamar, Murray, Landi, Barrington, and Grissom, like most others, I'm also going to miss Mike Lanaris. On a team that sometimes appeared to have no passion, he always looked to be playing his heart out.
  14. I got a new insulated cup from the office party. I bought so much stuff at Outfitters this year, there wasn't much anybody could buy, I didn't already have.
  15. I did. Mad as hell, too. As I was loading the scooters into the truck, I heard the roar. Looked at Mrs. S and said, "OT". We listened to the rest on the radio. Should have known. I did that once before. 34 years ago. 1978, Kansas - Kentucky at Rupp Areana. Kansas leads by 6 with 10 seconds to go. Timeout by Kentucky and I decide to leave thinking the game was over. Cats tie the game with no time on the clock and go on to win it in OT. Until tonight, I had not left any game early since then, except the UC game a few weeks ago in Cincinnati.
  16. I've got no problem with anything Coach T does at this point. It's his job on the line. He hasn't been here a month, yet. Taggart is an offensive guy and he wants to turn this around in a hurry. He needs people who know how he works and how he wants his offense to work. He's not wasting time teaching somebody new and the new guy getting used to him. The coaching staff can then concentrate on the team from the word go.
  17. If you are talking about AAU membership, Nebraska just lost their membership, but was a member when included in the conference. Their president even admits that they would not have been invited to, or would have been admitted into, the B10 had they lost it prior to being accepted into the conference. There are some in the conference that want Nebraska ousted if they do not regain their membership. The AAU is all about money, too, though their aim is at research grants, primarily federal. I was under the impression that one of the goals of the Unstoppable Project was to position us for AAU membership. That's the reason for the emphasis on research funds, now.
  18. I am wasting time to reply: delusional. I'm not that old, yet. I can remember when FSU was mocked as a "girl's school" trying to play football. I can remember when no one ever got fired for buying IBM, because they were by far the standard computer manufacturing company in the world. Things change more slowly than you would like, but rather quickly when you look back over time. USF will rise or fall on it's own merits, and the conference situation will work itself out. Yes you are, you just don't want to admit it.
  19. He was a good man. His intentions were to build a foundation based on academics first. He had begun that by increasing the graduation rates, the way he did. Too bad he could not accomplish it and at least maintain the win/loss percentage. I wish him well.
  20. Katz looks at this from a basketball standpoint. It's not relevant. Regardless of the popularity of March Madness, college sports is financed by football.
