  1. Nature of the beast, there big guy. If you'll notice, it's the same posters posting the same thing in every thread, too. I don't know why it surprises anybody. Pile on mentality. Funny stuff.
  2. We should be in the Campus Green Parking Garage, just off Martin Luther King, at least 2 hours before the game. Somewhere around 5. I'm not bringing a grill, but I am bringing the remainder of our tailgating gear. We'll probably have chili or something else pre-made, but hot. I, as usual, will have enough to feed an army. You, and whoever you may be with, are more than welcome to come by. We should stand out like a sore thumb, but I will PM you my phone number.
  3. According to the piece we will after going to 14 teams.
  4. Great analysis! Thanks for your input. You don't get to almost 70,000 posts by being wordy.
  5. The Alumni Association does not appear to be offering one, yet. It doesn't look like they had one for Louisville either.
  6. I couldn't agree more. I look at my Alma Maters less like business entities and more like friends. It's a special connection for me. I would be where I am without them. I have friends let me down and upset me all of the time, but I have never abandoned one when they've needed help. I don't intend on abandoning this one either.
  7. I didn't sign up for it, but then again, I didn't think of it. I'll get back with you.
  8. I've got 8 tickets. We're going to be there. With cowbells on. I'm wearing my USF Santa hat, too. It's going to be cold as hell, so I'm going to go with my old Green Bay Packer standby, a flask of peppermint schnapps for the hot chocolate. Ho Ho Ho!! Go Bulls.
  9. What are you talking about? UCF hasn't beaten USF in Tampa since the 70's. They had 5 true freshmen on their roster. It was not just a home game for us, but a celebration to open our new arena. It was just one game in the win-loss column and I don't care that we loss, but come on, to not even show up on a night like that is really embarrassing. Worst case scenario is that game should have at least come down to the last couple of minutes, not been over 8 minutes into the game. To me it is the ongoing trend of slow season starts that bothers me. If ever the team should have been up and prepared for a game it should have been Saturday. I'd rather them start slow than finish slow. While I'm disappointed in the lose to UCF, I'm not giving up on the season. Stan has shown, he can adjust, using the non-conference games to do so. Denny Crum's Louisville teams in the late 70s and through the mid 80s were famous for starting slow. During that time frame, the Cards won 2 National titles. Still fans would dive off the 4th Street Bridge in December. Didn't have message boards back then.
  10. When did that happen? Was it before the Pitt blowout? Was it before the collapse at Rutgers and the, now familiar, last minute fold against Cincinnati? While the defense looked better against Syracuse and Miami, it still collapsed at the end of the Louisville and West Virginia games, so they didn't improve that much. In fact it looked an awful lot like what we see now. And don't forget, the Bulls had a 23-7 lead on Notre Dame in the 4th quarter and had to hang on for dear life. BTW, I'm not defending Cosh, here. I just see same-same, and Snyder being here would have changed nothing. And while I did not actively want Snyder to go, I was hot heart broken when he left for that very reason.
  11. I will try to, but I may not be able to watch/attend every game. We have an apathetic student body. You compare the two athletic programs and their marketing, you'll see why. They are breeding a culture of loyalty, pride and tradition over there, we are not sadly. It is amazing how useless our marketing department is it has always been this way outrunner, what is UCF doing that we are not? I'm not looking for sarcasm. This is a serious question. Social media is way better and consistent. The biggest plus they have for them is having the athletics district and housing complexes together. Its hard to describe exactly in words, but when you see the presentation of the two, you can tell the difference. OK, I will have to check out the social media, but is the housing complex really that far from the athletic district at USF? I know at other schools the Greek community gets involved with athletics. I don't know if that is a solution or not.
  12. All I saw last year, was our defense losing us games at the end just like this year. Only last year, Snyder's squad gave up the only absolute blow out in the last 3 years. So I'm a fool. I can live with that.
  13. What time did they allow people to enter the dome last night? We didn't get there until 6:20.

  15. This. The students got loud on a few of the small runs we had. But they where so few and spread out that it was tough for the students to get going. Spread out? Sections 119, 219, and the 3rd level above that were all students. They just sat on their hands until the team did something first.
  16. If you cannot shoot better than 36% from the floor, you have to get offensive rebounds. That wasn't happening, last night. One of the problems with playing man-to-man defense the way USF does, "smell the breath" tightness, is it leaves you out of position to block out when attempting to rebound. When you do not have the big bodies in there, you must block out to rebound. I'm interested in seeing how Stan fixes this. Also, the defense was tight in spurts, not constant like last year. UCF was shooting at the same goals we were. They shot 50%. There was a lot a bad shot selection on our part. Stan might want to rethink this up tempo offense and go back to frustrating the opposition to death.
  17. The club seats are very cushy on the butt!! Pissed me off that there were some Kanigit butts in some of those cushy seats ... Right!! The guy in front of me it was his daughter who graduated from there. Maybe it was similar with the others?? Only a few but not good seeing them there. Most of 206 and 207 were UCFers. Loud people, too. Could not hear our student section, theirs kept drowning ours out.
  18. Lots of empty seats, especially in the bottom bowl. Those t-shirts made them stand out like sore thumbs, too. The announced attendance was 7,717 , but the actual was less. Even using the announced number, that is only 77% full for, what I would view, is a major event for the program, openning a new facility and hanging a banner for making the tournament. The place should have been packed.
  19. Went in 2010, can't make it this time. Will be on the road heading to Kentucky and Ohio for Thanksgiving and USF @ UC the day after.
  20. He's supposed to be a solid 2 with a good perimeter game. All the jump shooting looked off last night for some reason.
  21. Also I'd get Brangus instead of Brama. In case things didn't work out, you at least get some decent steaks, roasts, and hamburger out of the deal.
  22. It has nothing to do with the TSA or RayJay, I have asked these people and they said that they would not mind having a live Bull. Athletics swears its not them, the Alumni Assoc. swears its not them either, so it must be the Presidents office that is stopping it. Now if the Presidents office says that they are not blocking it then I guess fairies or the Smoking Man are stopping it because outside of the TSA, RayJay, Alumni, Athletics, and the Presidents office nobody else has the power to oversee a live mascot. Based on my research at UGA, Colorado, UT, Auburn, LSU, UNC, Air Force, Navy, and now UF (apparently they have had a live Gator on the sidelines this season with a taped up mouth) the Alumni Association funds a "Live Mascot Fund" each year with enough money to offset the costs associated with feeding, keeping, housing, and breeding new future generations of mascots for the school. The Alumni Assoc. has a panel established who overseas the distributions of the funds to the breeders, how much the breeder can sell unwanted offspring from the blood line to fellow alumni, and make the final decision as to which of the untapped animals in the breeders pen will be the next mascot when the current mascot either dies or gets too old to perform his duties. The panel also ensures that the breeders keep the blood line of the live mascot as in tact as possible. Generally from what I have been able to deduce the breeder has a 30-70 or a 40-60 profit sharing relationship with the school as far as the selling of unwanted offspring go. The guy that raises the Bevo's out in Texas sells the unwanted longhorn bulls that came from the bloodline at auction for a pretty penny, or general studding out of Bevo himself and the breeder gets 40% of that final sale price and the school gets 60%. Likewise at Georgia the breeder gets a 30% profit from studding fees or from the sale of an unwanted litter while the AA gets 70%. The breeder is also on the schools payroll and gets a bunch of other items like sideline access, free merchandise, and so fourth out of the deal which is why they do it despite getting the short end of the straw. I know the ranchers that tried to get a live Brahma for USF and they still have some of the Bulls on their ranches. All of the live Bulls that were raised for USF came from Hernando County. When I move out of Spring Hill and onto my 8.5 acre farmstead in Brooksville I'm going to get a calf from one of those live Rocky Bulls from my breeder pal who owns the last Rocky that has yet to be sold, raise it, train it to be docile around people (thus to alleviate any liability issues), and approach the University Alumni Assoc. with a proposal for a live mascot. If they say no then I will see about working with the TSA to rent space outside the stadium and see if I can park him there during games to spite the University. If UCF can have live Brahma Bulls at their ****** stadium the last time we played them, then I don't see why we can't as well. Especially given that the TSA is apparently fine with it as long as you have the event insurance to cover the animal which is already covered under USF's current event insurance policy. If I did it myself I would have to get my own policy, but since I would just be displaying a live animal, and nothing else, the policy would be a drop in the bucket. Ralphie, the Colorado Buffalo is a cow. Bevo, is not a bull. He's a steer. Big difference in temperament once the boys come off. Bubba, build a good strong fence and hope there are no cows within a half mile or so of your place. Or they are at least down wind. I've seen a bull go through a barn wall to get to a piece of ass before. I've raised them from bottle to stud stock. Not something to take lightly. It's not like having a dog, so I commend you.
  23. Yes I forgot to mention this. Our lack of size will really be an issue (ties in to rebounding). Jordan OMG will really need to develop quickly to help us in this area. I wouldn't hold my breath. OMG is a project, very very raw right now. You can see his difficulty running the court. I doubt Jordan will contribute much this season. My biggest fear is that he will get injured. He has a Greg Oden type body. Actually he is recovering from an injury, right now. At the open house, I was standing next to Coach when he was talking to Jordan's orthopedist. I tried not to listen in, but did know all was going well and they are looking to get the weight off.
