    There's nothing to be learned from Bowl Games, outside of the really major ones. There were years when the Big East did really well against other conferences in the post season and it gained the conference little, if any, additional respect. There's way too many intangibles during Bowl Games. Often times, you have coaches who have departed pre-game, some who will be soon post-game, emotional players, some who don't show up, some playing in their hometowns living up the spotlight the night prior; you know, those sorts of things. To some teams, the Bowl is the world, to others, totally meaningless. Also the reason why I don't hold the D's performance against Tom Allen.

    I've mentioned this before, but it was reiterated again to me while listening to my favorite sports radio show out here in LA. They were comparing Josh Rosen to Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck. Which says nothing of AW. But at least its not like he transferred due to his own talent having diminished or something. I think he is going to QF a real run. CWT will earn (hopefully!) his pay figuring it out.

    About to google the date of the Miami Bowl, but if I can manage the flight, I'll likely be there. I really wish it was almost any other bowl, only because Miami doesn't appeal to me as a destination. /speaking from my LA high horse. haha

    I'm not sure how I feel about this. But, mostly, old.

    Im 31 years old and haven't had cable since I moved to California nearly two years ago. Many friends my age and younger are choosing to "cut the cord" as well. The cost/benefit analysis of cable t.v. is not in the consumer's favor. But, for a long time, that was okay, because cable had the monopoly on content. Now, I watch any sport I desire online. The scary thing is the stupid cable companies that are also internet providers. They're aware of the trend described above. Instead of making cable more affordable, it seems their strategy is to cap bandwidth to force users back to cable. Happily, years of being a nerd have equipped me with the knowledge necessary to avoid their tactics

    I've some friends out here pretty heavy in the SoCal high school football scene. The ship's probably already sailed on this season, but I think I'll see if I can invite myself to some games next year while rocking the USF (not San Francisco) Green & Gold. I imagine every little bit helps! lol.

    It'd be nice to see us pick up an JUCO OL or two. I think that's about the only position where we are losing significant starters in the offseason. I saw a headline for the top JUCO recruits. Ill have to check out the article and see if any players from the typical schools (College of Canyons, I'm talking about you!).

    the problem is that they just aren't old enough, imo. With branding being so essential these days, someone may see them, not recognize their vintage, and cast a negative view on our program's direction. Kinda lame, but that's the reality of it these days.

    I just discovered that a co-worker buddy of mine out here owns a legit sports performance company. He, himself, actually played ball at Texas A&M in the 90s. He's super passionate about high school football. And a real good dude. His son was a recruit, now a freshman at Fresno, transferring to ASU. Come to find out, he's trained all the top high school kids out here, including Josh Rosen. Anyway, we're becoming pretty good buddies so I'm keeping a constant bug in his ear about the Bulls. He actually seems pretty legitimately interested in the program. And, oh, his son was recruited by UCF, he thinks. haha

    I imagine coaches occasionally allow visits from successful folks who have affiliation with the University.

    By the way, I wouldn't make too much of AW's situation in UCLA either. Rosen was going to start no matter what. You guys have no idea how incredibly highly hyped he's been out here.

    I'm kinda worried if we're agile enough to adjust to the quarterback change. Kid sounds like a gunslinger. So long as we manage that...

    The thing that really confuses me about this is that Price is a captain. So, obviously, someone still has some sort of faith in him. Right? Or am I reading that wrong?

    Petros is sufficient. Haha. Actually, I listen to his radio show every night. He's local out here.

    Dude, these uniforms are rad. And, from what I've seen from player reactions on twitter, they seem to like them too. The importance of their opinion, at least in this case, is only trumped by the recruits'. I imagine recruits probably dig these too.

    It doesn't appear you need any advice smazza, so take this as an observation. I'm not typically compelled by marketing. But if I were ever to need a personal injury attorney in a pinch, my kneejerk reaction would be to contact James Bergener, mostly because he is so familiar to me from his exposure on the Petros and Money Show.

    I live out here. I listen to a ton of local sports radio (hello Petros and Money) and seemingly rational, knowledgeable folks are astonished by this Rosen kid's polish and poise.

    Since he was referenced, I should tell you that no one out here (LA) expects AW to get any play next year. UCLA's incoming freshman QB is supposed to be really special.

    The way this thread derailed scared me. No one is clear yet about what the kid was suspended for, right?

    It's streaming on ESPN.com for free. Even for me. I don't have cable t.v.;these events are typically blocked online.

    This is fun. I was thinking: If you have no affiliation with USF and run in to this game, I bet you think, "Oh, USF. Didn't their men's team make a run a while back?" And then after that, you probably recall our moment at #2 in football. And, none the wiser, you figure that our athletic department has just been humming along all the while.
