    Miami has looked pretty bad. UCF has shown some fight but doesn't look like they can rely on their passing game so tough to play from behind.

    +1 Don't think Nevada is a BCS team but I don't think every SEC could slaughter them. Most maybe. After watching Kentucky, I think they would have a better chance with their basketball team on the field.

    I think we do but he is hurt and we don't use him enough anyway.

    Exactly. Great teams don't lose to the likes of Nevada or any mid major FBS school during a championship run. If we lose our program isn't good enough yet. Just that simple. I've said this all summer to those who have expressed more concern about Nevada than Thursday at Rutgers and the rest of the Big East schedule. Nevada appears to be a good team but, if we don't beat them, we don't desrve to be in the running. We start getting the picture today.

    Reno ain't Vegas. If it was, the Bull Nation would travel in droves. As it is, an early season game like this likely won't draw well with our crowd.

    Good, tough schedule, particular at home. Perhaps with our new, improved dome, the Jan. 6 conference home opener will be an Epiphany: a home game against Syracuse where the bowl is not colored Orange.

    I am really hoping this is not a serious or nagging injury. We need to strike this year, while the iron is hot, and I think having Shaw to tote the rock gives us the best chance to do so. Please, please, no redshirt.

    Defending the pistol is all about playing disciplined, assignment football and maintaining the gaps so that you can contain the power running game component as well as the quick passing game. I am less concerned about speed than I am about maintaining discipline in our new defensive system. I'm sure we were working on this before UTC.

    After what I saw Saturday from the offense, I figured this was a foregone conclusion anyway, even without injury to Shaw

    I was really rooting for second team offense to get that 24 additional yards and a field goal to close it.

    I am a devout Bulls worshipper but I wouldn't get divorced over a game with Chattanooga unless you were planning to split anyway. Happy wife, happy life.

    Is that a Tennessee thing? Never thought of that. Chattanooga is the home of the MoonPie, one of the basic southern food groups when served along with an RC Cola. But MoonPies go with anything.

    Chattanooga is a nice town with a few breweries from which we might welcome them bringing samples, such as Chickbock or Surrender Monkey. Whatever themed brew you choose though, remember to accompany it with a MoonPie.

    Sorry to inform you but anyone, anywhere can have problems. Yes, sadly, exactly. With the likes of Voss and Leon Orr, Gulf High's football program has had some bad press of late. And New Port Richey, like so many other places, is not the idyllic town it once was. However, I know countless success stories who are NPR natives and Gulf High graduates. Many of them are proud USF alums as well. I wish Mr. Voss and Mr. Orr all the best going forward in their lives.

    As a USF/FSU alumn who thoroughly enjoyed that game at the Doak, I don't suspect this game to be the same. FSU won't let USF sneak up on them but I do agree that Clemson game could have an impact. I'm looking forward to a good one with the local kids, as usual, bringing a little extra for in-state bragging rights.
