  1. Tampa's on the shore of Tampa Bay - not the Gulf of Mexico. But I guess we do have the St. Pete campus.
  2. The other good thing is that so many people left, that getting out of the parking lots after the game was a breeze and no traffic back to Chicago.
  3. It was very reminiscent of Ben Moffit's pick six in 2007 (2:05 mark).
  4. And unfortunately the debate carried over from the verbal exchanges on this message board to a physical acting out of one's position on the matter. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/crime/os-pinky-flamingo-dead-busch-gardens-20160803-story.html I still say it's no coincidence the perp was from Orlando...
  5. Not sure if you are new to the games or just new to parking in the stadium lots so I'm just going to throw this tip out there. If you have ladies with you, be sure you know about the clear bag policy. We had someone join us this past game and never even looked at the purse she was carrying. Unfortunately she learned about the clear bag policy the hard way. We felt pretty bad - especially because we always have extra clear USF bags for just that occasion.
  6. That moment when you realize that taking a knee with another half to play isn't all that bad after all.
  7. God I hate beach balls at football games! One is bad enough but then you get the copy cats. Besides, I've seen those at other stadiums - can't we come up with our own idea? Sorry. I don't believe anything I just said - just thought I'd try to beat the other Debby Downers on here based on the responses to other "crowd entertainment" threads. Well done on the beach ball - need to have more of them. We saw it bouncing around the end zone during the game and of course my child now wants us to smuggle one in. She also feels we need to make a D "Fence" sign.
  8. Perfect description. It’s about everyone having a good time. Even the green person with the mouse head - I don’t care how weird it was, we need all the carnies we can get! Remember, a lot of kids LOVE that stuff and I can tell you as a parent, when my kids were young, i enjoyed the games WAY much more when the kids weren’t begging to go home. OK - now after saying that, the guy on the video board wagging and flicking his tongue all over the place made a lot of people uncomfortable.
  9. I haven’t really seen any games doing that this year. I’ve seen a few pink shoes and towels but no team-wide pinkification.
  10. Lose your starting quarterback during a game and things like this can happen. If QF goes down...never mind - I’m not going there. I just can’t.
  11. It’s because he was saving it for an article all to itself. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/will-bulls-finally-see-an-attendance-boost-saturday-night/2341022
  12. Aaaaaaand then there’s this one to remind those that just might be getting interested in USF football to not bother since we’re really playing for nothing. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/college/twenty-years-ago-usf-sat-atop-college-football-almost/2341032
  13. True - what was I thinking? College coaching is one profession where one can be publicly fired (for worse things than this), and then welcomed with balloons and fanfare at a new school.
  14. At first I was wondering where the compliment was, but I guess the fact they have us on their mind so much that they feel the need to put us on their uniform for a game that is not even against us is certainly a tip of the hat our way. Perhaps they should clarify it a bit: "The bull the victim of Orion's strike, Taurus represents the opponent and the conquered (2 out of 8 tries)."
  15. He got fired for not performing his duty. That never looks good on a resume.
  16. For many years we were in the south end zone, one row from the top, right between the uprights. We had a fun crowd around us.
  17. This is great. This is one season ticket holder that wouldn’t care if they gave away seats right next to me for free. I want to get the buzz going. I hope they’re filling up the east side.
  18. Yeah - that was a few rows above us. I didn’t even know what was going on until I realized everyone in front of us was looking behind us. Can’t tell you the outcome though - I went back to the game.
  19. I believe Row T is what is known as the drip line. We have Rows U and V in 209. Of course a breeze in either direction can influence that! But let's not talk of rain - happy thoughts!
  20. Other than twitter, no. In fact go to the Homecoming web site and click on the game info link and zero mention.
  21. Why should we look at ECU? They have an on-campus stadium, they don't play their first few games in the heat, they have no pro teams in the area, and I'm not sure they have any theme parks or other things to distract large numbers of people from going to a football game. Apples and oranges. Just like WVU - the only game in town. For someone like you, I can see how it can be frustrating to hear the excuses people bring to the table. I've been to every home game since '97 except for maybe two, but I know there are fans that are more rabid than me (like you probably). But I know the average fan for any college team is not as die hard as you'd like them to be.
