This is how I thought pre 1996-1997. Back in the 80's and early nineties with no dog in the hunt I would root as a Florida football fan for whatever Florida team had the best national advantage. Once USF had a football team my thinking changed to everybody except USF must lose.
I was surprised while it was very hot it was not as oppressive as I anticipated or the FSU game. There were many nice puffy clouds and a little bit of a breeze
I was pleasantly surprised by the kicking game based on what we heard during spring and fall camp.
Vivonetto looked solid other than one attempt (XP or FG?) that was a little low and would be blocked by a lot of teams. I will take 4 of 4 XP and 2 of 2 on FG including a long of 41.
Punting did look like an adventure, is Schneider a rugby or straight on punter? Heard he was inconsistent in camp and that showed.
I will add what I saw last night about Barnett is he has a little bit of juke to him. I wasn't impressed by the acceleration but he has moves and may be faster than he looks due to his height.
Hard rain prior to game. Slightly soggy conditions.
How far do those wheels go in the grass before they bury themselves in the turf?
How many YouTube views will the video get of a large group of people tugging on the bull to yank out the wheels then manhandle it back into the tunnel? Oh the humanity!
Not saying it will happen but risk management is a real thing.
I have a pair of high top Vans with lime green trim (by Vans) with lime green shoe strings (by me). I have had them since about 2005 and they have been to more Bulls football games than most people on TBP. Though they are retired I'm kinda in favor of lime green (in moderation) is what I'm saying.
Big thanks to Mutt! ,
We have been trying for 8 or 10 years to get to this. Nice surprise that VPA Kelly made it. I was impressed that with him at practice this morning and starting his job tomorrow he still found time to come out and say a few words.
I am with the group that still has season tickets (since the first year) but is not as thrilled with the current schedule because of the conference versus the Big East years. I am still excited about all the home games and go to a couple of road games a year but it is different than the thrill of the Big East years. Those West Va games were magical.
For those who complain about RayJay not being on campus it was not a problem to have 12,501 students back then.
I find it hard to believe that such critical positions that can and will affect games are left in the hands of (even for college) amateurs. Maybe it will work out but seems very risky.
I remember a discussion at a home game the week before the Elon game in 1997. Who is Elon? This will be an easy win (expectations grew rapidly that first year). Of course that ended up a loss.
