  1. I hope that wasn't an indication of what to expect from Gregory's coaching. The last two offensive possessions were a joke.
  2. It goes without saying that QB is THE key. If you look at the roster returning, it looks better than OK. O-line returns 3 starters and at least 3 other guys who've had experience in Polk, Galati and Larkin. Both TEs are back. Receiving corps looks fine with Salomon, McCants, Bronson, Antoine, Barr, etc. Cronkrite was a nice add for experience at RB while Sands, Mack, etc. shakes out for depth. D-line looks promising with the nice freshmen tackles, two Duke transfers, Reaves, Bronson, Livingstone with experience. Swatelle and Johnston at LB need more help. Corners are solid with Hoggins, Wilkins, Hampton. Thomas gives some experience at safety. Time for Watts to live up to his billing. That's a pretty good group already before anyone else steps up - and you know they will. If the QB is manageable, you can definitely win with that bunch.
  3. Why does Q refuse to pull it down and take off? Why?
  4. Not having seen much of UCF this year, now I see why Frost is the hot name and will be moving on. That offense makes you defend the whole field.
  5. Knight's obsession with attendance is ridiculous. Just report on the game/team.
  6. No strength to rebound and no quickness on offense = another very long season
  7. Signing today - Massimo Mbetse (Saint Stephen's Episcopal School/Bradenton)
  8. The offense is basic and unimaginative, the middle of the field is never tested and several proven offensive weapons in the passing game are ignored - primarily Johnson, Wilcox and Dillon.
  9. They may not beat Houston and they certainly won't beat UCF.
  10. OK, since I was busting on JK for never breaking any news, here's some for our USF golf fans - I know there are a least a couple on here. The Bulls have a commitment from Massimo Mbetse of Saint Stephen's in Bradenton. He'll be signing with the Green & Gold during the November signing period. Oh, and he has more than a little resemblance to a young Tiger. :-)
  11. I see Joey is getting pounded by Bulls fans in his Twitter feed for the perception of negative reporting. Honestly, that's not really the issue with Joey Knight. The real issue is that, despite the fact he's been on the beat for several years, it doesn't appear that he's developed any significant sources to help him with his reporting. My sense is that he very rarely gives us any breaking news - not when it comes to team coverage, coaching searches, recruiting, etc. News outlets outside the Tampa area often seem better plugged in than the local beat writer. That's the real issue. His predecessor built those sources and regularly broke USF news, and when he didn't break the story, he'd do more than just re-report what was already out there, he'd give us more detail or perspective. Joey doesn't.
  12. ??? What are you talking about here? Q has no eligibility left after this season.
  13. If they're "Honoring where they've been" - I think we should respect that by calling them by their original nickname from now on - Citronaughts.
  14. Never like to see injuries and he surely has struggled with them his whole time at USF, but . . . he was absolutely awful last year. One dimensional shooter - and not very good. Couldn't defend. Turnover machine. It would have been great to see him have a bounce-back season, but I was already hoping the new talent was good enough to push him to the bench.
  15. We have two seriously under-the-radar players - twin brothers relocated from Canada - at the school where I work. So far, I'm not aware of any interest from USF, but there should be. The RB (Chase) has some significant offers, including Syracuse, Purdue, Indiana, UCF. The safety (Sydney) can run and hits like a ton of bricks. Tulane is his best offer so far. As a guy who wrote recruiting for Rivals.com for a number of years, I can tell you these two are going to make a couple of schools pretty happy when they get there. Great kids. Great, aggressive players with LOTS of tools. If anyone has a connection to the USF staff . . . Read more: http://www.heraldtribune.com/sports/20170925/prep-football-seeing-double
  16. Just be careful when you go to the erector set: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/classified/realestate/os-ucf-stadium-lawsuit-20170929-story.html
  17. This kid is from my high school in upstate NY!
  18. I watched the show. I think it was either 90 minutes or two hours and USF's class was discussed for about 1 minute. "Mike Ford's good. So is Claude Davis." That's what you missed if you missed this show.
  19. You could say the same thing for Angelberger, Butler. Taborelli and Daniel, too, looking at those numbers. USF's offensive numbers were pathetic across the board.
  20. Given your previous track record of attacking me, why would I take it any other way?
