  1. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
  2. A quick peruse of the 1st page today, and everyone is on the "FIRE EVERYONE THEY'RE ALL THE WORST COACHES IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL" bandwagon. I think that 2007 was the worst thing that could happen to this program. Expectations were raised SO high and were completely unrealistic. Since that 5-0 start, fans and media alike have been trying to put USF back on that level, when the players on the field have not peformed at the level to warrant it..........not even close. They've competed at the level that their talent and coaching were capable of, which is not what fans and media expected, and therefore created a huge, fake sense of disappointment. The fans and media following this program have been watching FSU, UF, and UM play at such an elite level for such a long period of time, that it has become.....normal. USF football is proof that it is NOT normal and it is NOT easy to reach that level, much less maintain it. It's a huge uphill climb to reach that level, and you must. be. patient. when. climbing. that. mountain. - We've never had a top level recruiting class, so how does anyone expect to have a championship level team? - We've never had a 2nd string that pushed the 1st string for playing time, so how does anyone expect to be able to withstand injuries over a long season? - We've never had the money to spend on top level assistant(and head) coaching, so how does anyone expect individual players, individual groups of players, and the entire team to be coached and perform in a smart, efficient, mistake-free way? - We've never had an truly unstoppable, marquee player, on either side of the ball, who could take over a football game. - We've ony had 1 Quarterback in the history of the program, and it's no coincidence that he led our team to it's best season. What needs to be done to "fix" the apparent problems? I don't know. How it needs to be handled though, is obvious to me: patience.
  3. Agreed 3rd. If we can't have a real one...give us a fake one!
  4. Yep. And after listening to that, what he did made perfect sense.
  5. The fact that BJ got it over Andre is a whole different issue, but if you want to count a mention on a helmet sticker segment as something significant, then go right ahead.
  6. I think the voters are going to be gun shy about ranking USF too highly, until we actually finish a season stronger than we start.
  7. Our AD wasn't caught with his pants down. Florida wasn't letting us in the SEC and FSU/UM weren't going to let us join the ACC. And that's a fact. I was worried that the CBS vs ESPN thing would be what kept us off of College Football Final, and it did. Had this game been on ESPN3, guaranteed we'd have gotten on the show.
  8. I see a lot of teams changing, and very few of them improving. USF included, from '10 to '11. It wasn't broke, and we fixed it. I'm hoping we go back in the right direction with next year's alleged tweaks.
  9. I got a little bit for everyone.....
  10. my girlfriend used to work with Shannon Snell's baby's momma. [/random]
  11. A couple things: - Admittedly(hanging head in shame), the 1st thing I looked for is new helmets. Looks like we're staying with green. > - McKenzie wore 17 at Iowa St and looks like 27 here. Those are HORRIBLE numbers for a LB. ;D - The thing that stands out the most to me is the continued "growth" of USF players. They get bigger and bigger each and every year. Gotta love it.
  12. Is it an IE thing only? I use firefox and I see no cursor.....
  13. What's even hotter? Moving up to AA in your 1st year of pro ball, with the following numbers: .315avg 18hr 58rbi .957ops in 248 at bats
  14. in the photo galleries section, when you click 2006, the background is half grothe's pic and half solid green. also, the "2006" and "2007" are just kinda floating in the middle, maybe you can put them up in the bar?(like all the other sections)....
  15. Yall are forgetting something very important: USF doesnt have the money to spend on a "big name". The route Woolard is going, I believe, is the correct one. Finding the best available mid-major coach. Yall are discounting his success because he was at Winthrop, but think about it. How does a school like Winthrop make the NCAA Tourney? Answer: by winning their conference. They HAVE to win their conference. There are no at-larges coming out of the Big South. Based on that, 7 out of 9 years in the NCAA Tourney is impressive to me....
