  1. My wife wasn't happy seeing an $80K drop last month. I'll start worrying about things I can't control closer to retirement. Stressing over the market when you have four young kids - I'll pass. I have diapers to change.
  2. The logo wasn’t exactly correct with respect to what we originally had on the helmets during my time on the field. Attention to detail matters. I noticed a slight variation.
  3. We are Loyola Marymount on grass - if we’re clicking on offense (making plays when the plays are there to be made), it’s a defense’s worst nightmare. You’re going to hear repeatedly this season how defenses are tired in the fourth quarter. There’s conditioning - and then there’s conditioning. The fact more coaches haven’t taken the Golesh approach with players on offense is somewhat stunning. I remember running routes in practice or in garbage minutes and going from one side of the field to the next side of the field… then going in motion, etc. You’re **** near tired by the time the ball gets snapped. He’s cutting distances down for the receivers, etc., thereby giving them extra recovery time. We’re seeing the benefits from it.
  4. Anyone noticed Timmy McClain received some playing time in Mousetown? Took another L on the chin. I would love for the Brown-McClain matchup some day.
  5. Love f'en winning. His message resonates. No f'en participation trophies. The Russian brings that old school mentality to the table that we've lacked for quite some time. I'd run through a brick wall for him. Now lets go f' up some Academy kids before our government screws them up even more with their DEI initiatives.
  6. They brought the wood this week and last week. It felt like previous USF programs in the 2000-2010 era.
  7. I'm glad CAG is a Trump supporter. It makes it even easier cheering for USF. I agree with the Kelly problem. CAG is a great hire (I said it a few months ago) - until he's poached. If he wins too quickly this season, it will be noticable to other programs in the P5 mired in losses and he could be gone in a NY minute. The question remains: How does Kelly clean up the aftermath from the Big 12 going Pearl Harbor on the AAC? It does eventually come full circle - the AAC is talking to Army presently - remember they had a stretch as bad as our most recent stretch and were exiled into purgatory. Eventually in a decade or so, we might have some value to one of the conferences (assuming we have consecutive successful hires for a head coach). On a different note, I have six tickets and can only get to one game a season presently (besides games in Texas). I've tried giving tickets to people - for free. Very little traction. I'm currently buried at work and when I get home with my four thousand kids. I'm not even able to keep up with my fantasy baseball teams presently. At least my wife gives me time to watch the USF games on Saturday. Other than that - I'm a broken man. I'm the Dunkin Donuts guy. Wake up at 1:30 AM - at work by 2 AM. Home by 5:30 PM. Play with kids for two hours while using car jacks to keep my eye lids open - fit in throwing a substandard dinner together while also doing homework with the two kids in school - wife gets home between 7 PM and 7:30 PM - get the kids in bed NLT than 8 PM. Fall asleep watching Billions, or whatever show of the moment interests my wife. Rinse and repeat.
  8. My dad and his father worked for a newspaper for 75 years between the two of them in DC. There are nights where you would have eight editions printed. The earliest additions typically go to the furthest destinations - Russia, etc. The last edition goes to the closest location near their plant. The night Princess Diana died, my dad shut down the presses altogether so the writers could pivot on the coverage immediately. I wrote for a newspaper in 1993 I believe AI will eliminate most sports writers for daily coverage. The stories will be produced within seconds of the final whistle.
  9. We haven’t arrived… yet. Our offense was abysmal - Brown was downright terrible whenever he threw the ball. The defense played lights out - excellent calls by the defensive coordinator placing us in great situations throughout the game. Our time is coming.
  10. I paid $1K for club seats (yesterday for my wife and kids). They ended up squeezing into my front row seats in the end zone… all five of us into two seats. I had given away my four seats in 123 row two - I wasn’t going to kick my buddies out of those seats. Club seats are blah… I want to be loud in the end zone.
  11. This team doesn't have the star power of last year's squad, however the coaching is light years better. We'll get to six wins. Book it. Imagine when we recruit some significant talent again. The coach can coach - our players will learn that soon enough. I would love to take back the call in the endzone when we were driving to tie it up. It is what it is though. Not the end of the world. They will learn from that decision making... however I would expect them to go back to that play call when Brown has a little more experience in these type of situations. He'll throw the ball away next time.
  12. Nice start to the Golesh era... over/under on how many years he'll be here? I'd say two and out... to a P5 school.
  13. Taggart's offense on steroids. Wait until we get some playmakers. Golesh will be poached before the stadium gets built.
  14. The fact Brown is starting tells me Coach Golesh cares more about winning than being PC to a senior. Watching us attempting to execute his offense is a thing of beauty. It's Loyola Marymount University on the grass. We'll have issues - however speed worked well for LMU back in the day.
  15. Excellent game for sure. We had Battie, Horn and Weaver on offense and we end up with one win last year. SMH.
  16. It’s the Jimmy Horn show IMO. Travis Hunter can’t catch a cold presently.
  17. The Rutgers game still makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it.
  18. That makes more sense to me. If you leave a service academy in the middle of day one of your third year, you're screwed and have to repay the US government for the expenses your education placed on the US taxpayer. If you leave prior to the first day of your third year, you've essentially received two years of an excellent education for free. There should be a similar stipulation the minute NIL money is forked over to an individual. Just my humble opinion.
  19. I can't get on board with the collective. Feel like I'd be throwing away money... and I wouldn't care if it was the #1 recruit in the nation. I want to win... but not willing to pay players that lack loyalty. Just my personal feelings.
  20. First game I played in for USF. What a day...
  21. If he kicks as well as his brothers, it's a win all day for the program. If our offense can't get past mid-field, we're still in his field goal range.
  22. I was a friend of Nick's older sister back when we were in college together. I remember when she told me he made the team. I was excited for their entire family. Those were some tough days when she initially posted that her brother was lost at sea. She had some very close friends at USF that looked out for her at that point in time. Never knew Will. I'm sure this movie isn't doing his family any favors.
