  1. Power Five. I could truly care less about USF's standing in academia. I'm not flying to Tampa later this year to watch the debate team square off against Alabama. The only time I get annoyed with a lack of academics is when our players speak on television and they truly sound like they need to be re-taught on how to converse above the discourse heard on a playground. There's something to be said about speaking well in public. I was accepted to USF with a 2.19 GPA and 1080 SAT's back in 1998. Granted, having an excellent GPA and high SAT's would have been nice, however a lack of positive results in high school are not always indicative of an individual's ceiling in life.
  2. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Congrats to the young man on taking home the title. Where winning matters most in college unfortunately doesn't involve track and field... hopefully Mike Kelly will realize this pretty quickly so he can keep his job. We can't afford to keep losing in football and men's basketball.
  3. Can’t make it on time. Here’s hoping for a win so I can swing in to catch the championship game.
  4. If Battie was still in uniform, I'd be willing to say Saban would talk to him if he put up numbers against Alabama's defense similar to what he did against UF last year in Gainesville.
  5. As much as Bama has been on television these past couple of seasons, hopefully our players don't ask their players for their autographs prior to the game starting. What worries more about playing Bama... who does Saban see on our team worth poaching in the offseason? I'd watch how closely he talks to our best players after the game ends.
  6. You have a friend in Texas if you get to San Antonio.
  7. Right? This is literally the main place for USF sports/gossip for the past 25 years. Brad started this message board right after he turned 50 years old. Dude is almost 80 and still killing it posting everyday.
  8. I had to drop him in multiple fantasy leagues. I thought he would be a sleeper closer for me... nada. Was happy originally having him and Shane on multiple teams.
  9. What a misleading pile of dog excretement. There's no context on whether the survey was truly incorporating the development of an OCS or if people in general are complaining about parking on campus. People are inherently lazy - parking is an issue at every college campus across the US for people that don't want to walk to class. Here's the exact quote: "The difficulty to find available parking spaces has been a widely discussed issue amongst the campus community. In a survey of 166 USF students, 42% said that on-campus parking makes it difficult to attend classes and events(sic)." On a different note, if we got rid of the College of Education on campus, would admissions into USF actually become even more competitive academically ? Could we become the true Harvard on the Hillsborough? I'm sure there are a few shining stars walking the halls in the College of Education, however the real brain trust resides in the STEM degrees.
  10. The fact our society wants to normalize individuals that act irrationally due to their mental health issues is a slippery slope. In my opinion, there's nothing worse than acting on a bad idea... Cuban and WWMJD - we're not going to change each other's opinions on this subject. I don't wish ill will on either of you - we'll just agree to disagree. Go Bulls...
  11. I live on a military base presently. My eight year old daughter was in a Boys and Girls Club on base at Fort Sam Houston in Texas last Wednesday. She's in the gymnasium doing Tae Kwon Doe. I'm with my four year old daughter when she points out the rainbow signage on one of the walls in the building. I then take a few minutes to walk the rest of the facility that is ONLY for children from the ages of nine to seventeen (in other words, you don't need an adult for access). They have 10 signs in the club - six of the 10 are promoting the LGBQT movement. That's problematic. The other four signs were promoting activists that were part of the resistance movement, race, women's rights, etc. Why do kids need to be exposed to activism related to one's sexual preference? I get it - I was as far from a saint as possible from about 19 to 35 - however there's something to be said about allowing children to maintain their innocence. My wife pulled my daughter from the class on Monday while I was in Florida and we've found a place off base that is apolitical the minute you walk through their doors of their business.
  12. Support for the trans movement? It's very disproportionate. Americans are pissed that the Alphabet Mafia is forcing sexuality into every issue - especially when it comes to our children. AB is too big to fail, however if I was an AB shareholder, I would lawyer up when the stock plummets (as sales continue to demonstrate a downward trend, the stock price will follow... shareholders will sell, the stock falls further). Eventually big money will come and prop AB back up when the share price is low enough to recognize an arbitrage moment created by emotion.
  13. They should all be burned at the stake.
  14. It would take forever to read the six pages associated with this thread. This just reinforces what we already knew - The TDS folks are supporters of the Alphabet Mafia and have joined forces with the Groomer movement. Here's hoping everyone affiliated with the trans fad gets help with their mental illness ASAP.
  15. I'd be curious to see how many of the USF rugby players would have enough talent to actually play at USF (football that is). If we had one player at a minimum, that would be one more than I would expect (it's an entirely different ball game). Now would I want to get in a street fight with anyone playing rugby? Hell no. A different type of toughness for sure to play rugby... however the athleticism you see on a D1 football roster combined with Newton's Second Law of Motion is what differentiates a D1 football team from a club team playing rugby. Go Bulls either way...
  16. Like everything else, it's a wait and see process. Obviously Kelly can't afford to have his two most recent hires get sideways. He'll be looking for a job himself if he does (I understand what he's dealing with presently).
  17. Sense of Belonging - That's one of the most basic theories in history - hell, I didn't need higher education to figure it out. When I was single, if USF football was on TV, I was in a bar with a cold one in my hand and some chickenheads on my hip. That was my sense of belonging. Anyone else had a similar "sense of belonging" story either before or after getting married?
  18. Maybe they're focusing on Mark Madsen at Utah Valley State. He has an impressive pedigree. Would he want to relocate to Tampa after spending most of his life on the Left Coast?
  19. The donors ran Seth out of Tampa. There's no chance he's coming back here to coach IMO. It's probably been about a decade since I last spoke with Seth. He's got a pretty good gig at ESPN. I doubt he wants to re-run things back here as a 66-year old man. When Beard got picked up by Ole Miss (total homerun hire IMO) and someone leaked the non-hiring of Mike Brey, it made me realize we're at Ground Zero in the process - and it's not moving in the right direction. There has to be a top young head coach at a D2 or D3 school that knows X's and O's that wants to cut his teeth at USF. We should have had a list prepared coming into the season knowing one of two things was going to occur with our previous HC based on his previous history. I'm totally dumbfounded about how ill prepared we are to not have a coach already in place (Iona literally hired their guy within two days of losing Pitino). That's called having foresight. Someone needs to be consulting with their AD.
  20. We won’t get past Marquette. However if we do survive Marquette, why be scared to face South Carolina? If you want to be the best, you must beat the best. Bring on USC in the first round. Knock ‘em down and keep pushing forward.
  21. Let these old coaches die in peace. Chris Beard has been available for quite some time now. What the hell are we waiting for when a coach of his caliber is available? We need a firey coach that won't put up with nonsense - look how he handled the situation with his fiancee. She got out of line - he choked her out.
  22. Acquaintances with the Battie family - looking forward to following his progress at Auburn as I believe if Brian gets a shot, he's going to rocket up the draft board. However the last paragraph from Cadillac says it all. Williams can eat some **** and balls for all I care. “He gets to come here and have an opportunity to define his role and play big-boy ball,” Williams said. “…I’m excited about Brian. I thank God for us having the opportunity to get him and him choosing Auburn.” Why Cadillac Williams was 'ecstatic' Auburn landed USF transfer RB Brian Battie Brian Battie was a 1,000-yard rusher for USF last season and a consensus All-American as a kick return specialist in 2021.
