Two years ago today. This still makes me chuckle.

Serious question... How long you've been a Bulls fan? I go back to 1988 when I became a student. We didn't have football back then, of course, and expectations for any sort of USF sports greatness really didn't exist. Heck, I was happy just to see our basketball scores (and maybe a little write-up) in the paper. The Bulls have come a very long way over the past 3 decades, and I'm excited to see what the next 3 decades will bring. Keep your hope and optimism alive for your Bulls. You never know what is around the next corner. I choose to expect good things for USF sports and just roll with it if things turn out bad. If you can't do that then life as a Bulls fan can be pretty tough.

I was at that game with my family and remember those benches and the heat. I also don't recall seeing a lot of USF fans. It was a pretty miserable experience but, looking back, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I lived about 2 hours from Maryland's stadium back then, so getting to go to a USF game without a lot of travel was too good to pass up.

Not by all of us. Go Bulls!

I think I saw somewhere that Nacua sat the second half of our game due to injury. He's one of the ones out this week. Makes me think he played through his reported injury last week and aggravated it against us. Imagine what he would have done to us fully healthy.

That's probably what the replay officials saw too. I wish college football would consistently enforce or not enforce the rule. I guess it's comparable to a charging call in hoops. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

And a pretty obvious targeting call on UCF that was mysteriously overturned by replay.

The funniest comment on that Tweet (back to UCF fans): "Don't worry. You can just claim you won." The other common theme from UCF fan comments was "Fire Gus and bench the QB." (Sounded familiar, actually...)

You mean this coming Saturday? If so, the question does not compute.

I was in the stadium from the bitter beginning through the bitter middle and all the way to the bitter end. Despite the bitterness of the weather delay and the bitterness of the game, I got to tailgate with old friends, hang out with my family, and watch my Bulls live. I love experiencing wins more, obviously, but life is too short to feel bitter for too long. I'm over yesterday and am ready for a win next week.

I can't wait for the terms "P5" and "G5" to be retired.

It's getting exciting!!

A guy named Michael's comment at the bottom of this article was pretty well thought out. Here is one part of his comment that stood out for me: "One note on the BIG 10 and SEC monopolizing the playoff. ESPN's Burke Mangus spoke on that. He made it clear ESPN had no interest in that. It would just cut out a significant portion of the country's interest in college football. That doesn't make sense, for anybody. He also made it clear ESPN has no interest in the ACC blowing up. They are heavily invested and need to make the ACC work. That tells me they'll renegotiate if required to keep it together. He also mentioned there was no team from the ACC that would increase revenue for the SEC schools (the future 16-team league). Any additions would be dilutive financially. Found it very interesting he would publicly say that. Seems like a message to the SEC to protect ESPN's ACC investment. If the networks really are a big driver in all of this, his statements left me feeling pretty good about ending up with at least 4 power conferences after this round of realignment." Not sure how this might affect USF's chances of getting into another conference though. Fingers have to stay crossed I suppose.

Players often get better than they were in previous years (more mature, stronger, faster, more experienced). Also, team chemistry tends to change when you change several key ingredients (like coaches, QB, and my man Mr. "Freak" Jones at safety). There are many ways to make predictions on how a team will do or how much they have improved, but the only real measurement will be seen at the end of each game... W or L.

Great young man. I hope he has a monster season.
