  1. Since when did we become so defeated. This team has heart and drive. They even have a little swag, I refuse to believe they're going to go on the field and lay down. The same noise most of you are talking is the same thing they said when we played Auburn at Auburn, Notre Dame, FSU the first time. There's a reason we play the game. Our worst teams have hung with some of the best, so even if this team is as bad as some of you say, I know they will still exceed expectations. Step off the ledge my people, I know it's been a rough stretch, but I'm telling you we CAN beat them. They are only human and all the accolades in the world can't prepare you for going head to head with a raging bull.
  2. I was once in the Herd many moons ago and I will say this. The old knock on "Show Bands" like FAMU of being out of tune or over playing their instruments is just that, old. They have come a long way from the screeching and squacking that's being referred to. Another difference in sound is due to auditions, people playing on their main instrument, and school of music cross over. Some of the numbers within the H.O.T. Band when I was there came from people who weren't the strongest of players but wanted to be there. There also were people who switched instruments because they wanted a different experience. i.e. Flute - Tuba on top of that strong musicians who were in the school of music would at times get frowned upon because of their involvement in the Marching band. Mix all of those things together and you can have a band of 250 with only 175 being able to play the horns properly. (Gross simplification) As opposed to FAM who has stronger ties between the school of music and the marching band. Which means their stronger players are also on the field. That's another difference in sound that I feel I can add to the conversation. Not taking anything away from the herd because I love them. I just wanted to paint a fuller picture.
  3. Not that he's a BJD but I think many people said the same about a young kid from Tally that wasn't offered a scholarship to stay at home too a few years back. Anything can happen on Saturday. Many people probably did say the same thing. I wasn't one of them. I walked into that stadium believing we were going to win. This is a very different team. That team also had 13 NFL players on the defense walking into Tally. Anything can happen, but my $ is on FSU to cover. Hoping for the best. We don't know until they're drafted if we have a NFL stacked defense. I'm just saying
  4. Ybor City is NOT the problem, hip hop get togethers in Ybor late at night with a mainly African-American audience IS the problem. Blaming Ybor City is a PC tact to avoid the troublesome nature of what specifically occurred, i.e. A-A youth who have grown up without much male parental guidance or societal restraints on their abhorrent behaviour. TRUTH be damned, lets blame a city and ignore the elephant in the room. I think you hit on about every negative stereotype. Good job. I understand people are upset at Watson's death and yet another lesson form USF on how not to do public relations...but your comments says more about you and how you view people with different life circumstances and cultural differences than any useful contribution to this discussion. There is no elephant in the room or PC tact...but rather a murderer on the loose who has no regard for human life. Nobody died b/c of hip hop ... Hmmm, DJ hip hop late night at the Orpheum which draws in troubled utes, A-A utes gone wild at said location, murder and mayhem ensue. I guess facts can become stereotypical if you want to ignore them. I don't think ignoring facts and painting Ybor as some sort of horribly dangerous place that all should avoid addresses what actually happened, where it happened and by whom it happened. But go ahead and continue on your PC rantings. After reading your posts I don't have to wonder what political party you're associated with. Blaming an entire ethnic group isn't being real or speaking your mind. It's being prejudice and promoting stereotypes. Youth and alcohol use is a bad combo in any racial group. Any music mixed in can sway moods and emotions, that's not limited to hip hop. Ever been to a heavy metal concert? Rave? Classic rock? Reggae? You can name any type of music, and I'm sure there's some stereotype that's associated with it. So your "stating of facts" and lack of being "pc" only show the rest of us your true colors. Something tells me that maybe just maybe all crime in Ybor isn't caused by going African American hip hop heads. I think that the facts as you like to say would back me up on that. -Young Black Man Who Enjoys Hip Hop
  5. If Flowers has any aspirations of getting to the next level (NFL) he would be wise to switch positions. Or he can focus on proving people like yourself wrong. Just like BJ did while he was here. He can switch after he's drafted if need be. We aren't Ohio with 3 amazing quarterbacks... If not him then who takes over if Bench got hurt? Heaven forbid they're both injured...
  6. Good quarterbacks find holes in the defense and throw to guys who are open. That's the point, if there are defenders around and he has to thread the needle one would assume he would either run or do just that. I don't understandthe argument.
  7. And yes I stand by my statement of every little thing. There were no huge glaring mistakes with Flowers. Only glimpses of him not being a seasoned vet or not having the polished look some of you want to see. If we end up in the endzone and win ball games with him under center isn't that all that matters?
  8. Every little thing? The guy simply cannot throw the way a DI QB should be able to. He has skills, no doubt about that. He can scramble and make things happen. I don't see how this is going to work against FSU, however. Bench came in throwing darts, night and day really. On the other hand he isn't the magician with his legs that Flowers is. I'll tell you one thing for sure though, the receivers had to have been rooting hard for Bench to win the job. I beg to differ. That 2nd touchdown pass to D. Johnson was pretty. I'm also not mad at the Top 10 highlight he had on ESPN not to mention his escape ability. he took a few plays that should have been negative and willed them to succeed. I like Bench's throwing ability but I did clinch up a few times when he tossed the ball. I feel like he tries to force things, but overall I'm happy with both quarterbacks. i just like defending the guy who earned the starting job.
  9. I believe the announcer said that they enforce the penalty where it happened. After the touchdown = On the Kick Off On the 2 = What we witnessed
  10. I know we can win. They aren't Gods, they are men. Men bleed... If they bleed we can beat them. That's why we are going to play the game. Our defense is hungry and FSU isn't perfect. I watched them and they're alright. We have a hungry defense and an offense that can score points. I fear no spear, but they sure as heck better fear my horns!!!
  11. Or... He proved everything he need to. He scored with both his legs and arm. He commanded the offense and ran it the way it should be run. Did you want him to have more throwing TD's or something? They told bench he would get the second outing and he did, there was nothing left for Flowers to show us. After the gitters wore off he looked really good. But I know some people on TBP need something to fuss about. We can't afford to be happy with Both QB's driving up the field, scoring with their arm and their legs... USF SCORED 51 POINTS!!!! Taggart's offense scored 51 points. Who would have thought???
  12. I want it to go to their heads and fuel their hunger. I want them to desire a similar score in Tallahassee, then go out and execute.
  13. The Rock has come back to The University of South Florida!!!
  14. I know right??? I cheer for all of my bulls. When Bench comes in I'll still be happy.
  15. So we are going to pick out every little thing that isn't perfect, good to know.
  16. Go Bulls!!! I don't care who it is, that's impressive.
  17. It's also the first game of the year. He's 2 td's 1 int with positive plays with his legs. Yeah absolutely terrible smh
  18. You would think, but haters are going to hate. I truly believe CWT and company are going to turn it around. I don't understand the Holtz love fest I see here. It's easier to tank a program than it is to build one up. So I personally think anyone who took this train wreck should be given atleast 5 years. That's just my opinion though, it was pretty much a complete overhaul.
  19. I also don't get why we should fear the spear... I may have my green and gold goggles on but isn't this a team that last year had a very bad habit of falling behind and playing catch up. This was done with a NFL caliber quarterback at that. No matter who their quarterback is this year, they aren't NFL ready after not playing an entire season are they? As far as we know they may suck, wisdom would say they don't, but they also haven't played a down yet. We will be there first real test. I like the mentality of not sleeping on any team. Who oknows we could be FAMU's FSU. We could get their best on Saturday along those same lines we could get FSU's worst. Just a thought.
  20. I'm confused. If FAMU is our opponent and they got a new OC I'm assuming, why is it a waste of time to see what we might be up against?
  21. So CWT is playing his guys over the previous coach's guys? Crazy. Are you implying that CWT is playing "his guys" over better CSH recruited upper classmen? Regardless if he recruited them or not they are all his guys now and for the most part, he is gonna play whom ever gives him the best opportunity to win. If we are going to argue about that I will bow out now...with US Open starting tmrw and CFB around the corner I don't need spin my wheels much longer I'm saying even if they're remotely equal, every coach plays his guys. And please elaborate on the freshman CWT brought in that were beating out CSH's seniors "all over the field." My math might be off, but isn't CSH's true first class seniors right now? And not a single true freshman is starting. Edit: Last year was his first class. Only freshman I can think that started was Mack. There is a thread somewhere on CSH CWT receuiting classes that I tried to at least breakdown years etc. I am off to buy buttermilk for some waffles my wife is making hooray!!I broke it down for you. Marlon Mack is the lone freshman starter the past two years. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to Home Depot to buy a single lightbulb since I'm replacing lightbulbs "all over" my house. LOL that was funny (the lightbulb bit). Thx for the entertainment unfortunately I am not up for showing you the error of your ways atm bud. Will save it for the up coming season. Cheers. You've already written 500 words instead of a second name other than Mack. Take your time, I'm in no hurry. Classic! C'mon Bull-Hornz, give credit where credit is due, that was some lol stuff. It was entertaining, but I feel so much negativity. Sounds like the "I want it done yesterday mentality." We said our program was boned when CWT got here. He's making adjustments where he can with what he can. We all agree that Marlon Mack was one of the best players on our team and we didn't have a reliable quarterback or batch of receivers right? So why do we complain when he ran a offense that put the ball in the hands of one of our only playmakers??? It's cool to say adjust the offense to fit the talents of the players we had, but really, what players did we have that we could have adjusted for? I love my bulls and support them and the coach as much as I can buy I'm admittedly not a hardcore know the numbers type of fan. I gather what info I can from watching and reading here then I form my opinion. So please inform me. It just seems to me that "Haters are going to hate" No matter what was put on the field. I assume if we went pass happy we would have been off the field quicker if not lost by a larger margin. So I don't know what he could have done to appease some of you.
  22. Hard to compare FAMU to McNeese... McNeese ended up 10-3 that season... FAMU will be lucky to win 3 games this season. Are we one of those three games? I wonder if FAMU looks at the schedule and says "Ya know, we can beat these fools." Nah Lmbo
  23. I don't believe we had the level of players needed to execute. I never had a problem with his game day decisions, I feel like we had all of 2 offensive weapons and nothing to support them consistently. Our team was in horrible shape and I don't think Nick Saban could have done anything productive with that group. You have to build the foundation and restock the cupboard. I believe Cwt has done that and will prove all of his doubters wrong. Just watch. I agree on several points and also "hope" that CWT is righting the ship. For sure the talent is getting back up there and he doesn't seem to put up with lack of discipline or passion to play. All good things. He has definitely made some poor gameday decisions, calls and it is clear to me he is still adjusting to this level of football. That's ok by me, its where we are at. Some positives that I have seen over CSH, and dare I say CJL, is that he is not putting up with mediocre coaching and is working the personal angle to bring in people that are all in and capable. I like that. Also this isn't a stepping stone for him. If he resurrects this program, he will be here for quite some time to come. But FIRST, win baby win!! +1
