Which reminds me when they played here in 97 against our Greenberg-led Bulls.  Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson and Andre Hutson were on that team.  I'm not proud of this, but Coach Brian Gregory should know ( :) )....  I saw the entire team (players)  walking through Westshore Mall on the eve of the matchup vs. the Bulls in the Dodge Shootout, and it crossed my mind that if I started a "scuffle", I might be able to get some of them tossed in jail.  The fact they were nearly all taller then me (I'm 6'4") and I have a brain led me to only dream of the opportunity, not act on it.

But still, it was the way my brain happened to work back in those days.  We needed the win.

We went on to lose, I was there (instead of jail), but think I could have done more.....

:roflmao:

Right now, the 2016-17 Spartans are giving #1 seed Kansas all they can handle.

I spied Doug Woolard and his wife behind the bench at the Kentucky game today.

We're paying two coaches in that picture, one of them doesn't coach here. :stirpot:

and the one that doesn't coach here is the only coach to ever win an NCAAT game for USF Basketball, and also in my opinion lead the most successful season in USF Athletics history (for a revenue sport)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
