Yeah, but 3 JUCO DE's in one signing?  Not sure that's wise.  But of the 3, this guy has the best offer list, if you believe the sites.

I'm sure if they could get a stud HS commit instead, they'd take it in a heart beat. But that's not the reality, unfortunately.

We were REALLY light on talented D-line depth this past season already with Calloway leaving at the last second. We've only got 3 DTs and 6 DEs (5 on scholarship) on the roster for next year, and the bulk of those guys have no legit experience. That's really not that much. I suspect some of the DE recruits will be moved to DT. But either way you take the talent when you can get it, especially when they easily project into a usable depth player.

If woodie is getting rid of bull position and going more to traditional 4 down lineman look it would explain all the interest in extra DEs.  So that would also make sense since Byrd said its likely we'll br switching to a 4-3.
