That's weird. You must not be watching closely.

Marlon Mack

D'ernest Johnson

Jamie Byrd

Kendall Sawyer

Demetrius Hill

Josh Black

Devin Abraham

All contributing. I'm not saying they're all excellent players, but they are out there, beating out players that are much older and experienced.

Theres a lot of things to complain about. The freshmen/new players are not one of them.

Are they really beating out the upperclassmen or are they just Taggarts players

Seems toe a lot of his freshman played last year but where are they now

I get this feeling too along with Bench. I think he plays favorites.

At this point the scoreboard and W/L column falls more on Taggart and the coaching staff than it does on the players. Look at UAB, Memphis, Kentucky, Western Michigan, UTEP, Temple, and more that were 3-9 or 2-10 or worse last year that have 5 or 6 wins already. All of those schools don't have more talent than us. Some of them? Sure, but not all of them.

A lot of the talent he recruited hasn't even seen the field. I guess they're all red shirting.

  1. Jimmy Bayes (LB) - arguably our most prized recruit from last year.
  2. Vincent Jackson Jr (DE)
  3. Zach Hudson (OL) - pretty sure he's out due to surgery before the season, but we flipped him from Missouri.
  4. Tyre McCants (WR) - don't think I've seen him play yet. Could be wrong on him though.
  5. Benjamin Knox (OL) - was a huge get for us.
  6. Michael Smith (OL)

I'm probably missing a few too. And then you have a list of freshman that have made an impact or have shown flashes in limited time.

  1. Marlon Mack (RB) - if you can't see the talent here you're blind
  2. D'Ernest Johnson (RB)
  3. Ryeshene Bronson (WR) - Why doesn't this guy play more? He had that long TD catch against NC State and then is barely ever on the field now.
  4. Josh Black (DE) - had a sack the other night against Cincy I think.
  5. Jamie Byrd (S)
  6. Devin Abraham (CB)
  7. LeGrande Harley (LB)
  8. Kendall Sawyer (CB)
  9. Deatrick Nichols (CB)

The talent he's recruited is there. I don't know if we're under utilizing them or if our coaching is just holding us back. I don't think we're better than a 4-8 or 5-7 team. But I do expect to see improvement from a week to week basis and for whatever reason that is scoffed at a lot around this board and just can't seem to happen. That points to the coaching staff for me..

"He is a young and extremely gifted offensive mind, a developer of high-level talent and an elite national recruiter who brings the experience of having played an integral role from the beginning in helping to build one of the most successful programs in college football."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
