They've been making  these bad boys since the 1890's (and yes, they are still in production).

Funny as I don't think rotary phones work on most phone systems these days?

 

 

 

They are used in National Historic Houses, etc.

 

Probably what happens is that somewhere inside is an A-to-D converter chip, and it actually runs on a digital line.

Hopefully they stipple they case

 

The one thing I REALLY don't like about my S4 is how slippery it is. I also missed having the kickstand from my old HTC. So I bought a neoprene kickstand case, two problems solved.

Those cases are a good idea for helping the phone endure abuse.

At first I thought it was great he was going to get a cutting edge phone.  Now, after remembering that he often posts from his phone,  I wonder if this is going to be like hooking up a nitrous kit to a Shelby Mustang.  Oy.

Always get a case.

and keep your old phone as a backup.....replacement costs are crazy
