UCFSports1 Posted December 14, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 3 Content Count: 74 Reputation: 3 Days Won: 0 Joined: 11/27/2013 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Regarding UCF being the youngest school and strength of conference. UCF would have beat pitt, wvu and cuse no problem. The big east has never been that good with usually on good team : ville or mountain queers. This year was the same and we beat said team. You could have replaced temple, memphis, smu with old BE and results would have been the same. Heck..memphis was probably better than those teams this year and we curb stomped rutgers. This concept that the big east was so good in past years is delusional. There were a few good years, but just as this year the OBE was never that good and usf has no excuse for not winning it for 9 years when UCONN could win it. UCF also came in directly from CUSA and related recruiting classes and went 8-0. You knock UCF but we play consistent and win our conference. Had UCF had the benefit of the BCS tag we would have done alot with it. We did this with mid major players.

Do you seriously believe that if we hadn't continued to produce results like 2006 and 2007 that we wouldn't have gotten into the Big 12 or the ACC if FSU or Miami left? Get real. I'm afraid you're the one who needsto get real. Since those "magical" years of 2006-2007 you refer to, Cincy has won 4 conference championships/co-championships ... Boise State became a well known commodity in college football. Recent on the field success has had little, if any, pull in the conference movement up to this point. For all we know the Big 12 is happily courting UCF over in Orlando right now, because they've managed to develop a quality program that will continue to grow given the opportunity. They took one year in a BCS conference, and managed to smack down not only the best teams formerly from C-USA, but also our premiere teams over the years in Louisville and Rutgers. We'll never know how they would have done against Syracuse or Pitt, but based on their results last year neither the Orange or the Panthers would have been able to do a dang thing. All the props in the world to UCF for what they accomplished this year, obviously something we haven't been able to do yet, but let's not kid ourselves about this conference this year. Let's not act like they stepped into the SEC, B12 or even the ACC and pulled this off. It is "BCS" in name only and a lot closer to the other conferences than the big boys ... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/2013/conference/ . Although that has absolutely nothing to do with my post, thanks for sharing .... They're the youngest and have a 34 year head start on us. Hopefully the whiners will take note. if you are relying on the chart we should have never even started the football program at this point to still point to the age of our program is simply stupid at one point we were so much better than the orlando school but we couldnt maintain that and we made bad decisions not getting into a p5 was disasterous and yet our terrible leaders are still leading us no where

Not exactly a 34 head start. UCF started football in 1979. You guys were D1 before we played our first game in 1997. As a program, you had an 18 year head start. Just stating facts.

BCS games didn't start until 1997! So ANY team that has a long historical background such as Alabama, who won multiple national titles in the 20's. 30's, 40's, etc... obviously had to "wait" 100 years before they could play in a BCS game!

You would've certainly lost to one of the old big teams in those close games! This conference did not deserve an automatic bid this year.

Chart clearly states: Below lists each BCS (Bowl) school and the year it was founded. Don't think Georgia or Pitt had football programs in the 1700's. Next time, take off your haterade glasses and actually read what is actually posted.
