Since the Bulls share a locker room with the Buc's,  and the Bucs have had several reported cases of MRSA is anyone else concerned about keeping this from spreading to our players?

MRSA is rather easy to to catch esp in Locker rooms ("Three studies by the Texas State Department of Health found that the infection rate among football players was 16 times the national average") .

I know that some NFL teams are decontaminating their locker rooms after the Bucs play them http://www.ajc.com/weblogs/atlanta-falcons/2013/oct/20/report-falcons-send-hazmat-crews-disinfect-bucs-lo/

Hope that Our AD and medical staff stay on top of this, We don't want them catching this from using the same facilities.

Man, you made me look it up--not a medical guy. Staph infections don't go away easily, esp those resistant to anti-biotics. Yikes, if there's enough proof, I'd be disinfecting everything.

its some scary chit. Its Been in hospitals, nursing homes, prisons for along time, Its in Locker rooms as well( areas where people share items or are in close contact).   It is a Bit--h to treat as well.   Not fun.

Hope USF is staying on top of it, We use the same Facility as the Buc's.  Need to be careful esp if you have any OPEN area( cut, wound).

Not only MRSA BUT VRE as well(VRE is Vancomycin resistant)  http://www.medicinenet.com/vancomycin-resistant_enterococci_vre/article.htm

Story about MRSA in Locker rooms and it talks about the bucs specifically.

MRSA is bad. The antibiotics used to treat are rough and it's not like just taking pills

I was bit by a kid and contracted MRSA 8 years ago.  I spent a month in bed.

Several, if I recall correctly.

I've worked with MRSA patients in intensive care for years. Don't recall any staff getting it, but we were using isolation equipment. Of course there were periods where we didn't know they had it and just used regular precautions.
