I still distinctly remember driving all the way to Tallahassee to watch FSU play uf back in the day because we had no football. (Lawrence Dawsey was FSU's star at the time.)

 

USF football has given so much joy over the years.

Other programs have gone through hard times too. Some of the people on this board make me laugh. One horrible season and they are asking if we should abolish the football program. We'll be back. It may take a few years, but we will get there.

Pyotr your right there was a time when that team we faced today (late 70's) contemplated dropping football then Schnellenburger came along and 5 national championships later they're back again as a power. We'll get better.

You people can whine all you want but 5-7 with a win over Notre Dame and multiple leads in the 4th quarter blown is not a 'horrible" year ... All those awesome 6-6, 7-5 years have obviously spoiled you.

usf has never won a thing or really competed for title

 

we were # 2 in nation once---that was a good time

 

we were in bowl games--a few were good times

 

 

that is about it

I missed who mentioned abolishing the football program? That is ridiculous over a few bad years.
