There are still a number that are committed and likely always will be. When you think of the high around '07 to where we are now, it's not surprising the weak at heart are gone. This has been a tough ride. Enough has gone wrong that it will take 10 times the work to get back to where those teams from the trailers got the program. Amazing, like so many other things in a University setting, money has been thrown at the problem, but it just seems to persist or get bigger. If we can't realize where we are now and the time it will take to get better, the fan base will dissolve further. It's going to be a tough road. Like many schools, a lot of USF's fan base in 2007 wasn't graduates of the school -- it was folks who lived in the Tampa area and adopted USF. The thing about Tampa sports fans is their are for certain fair weather fans. All fans are to some extent (see season ticket sales at FSU during the recent down years), but Tampa seems to be more so than most. The benefit to this is you start winning and fans start showing up. Win (or at least play competitive) and the rest takes care of itself.

Fix that, and then all I care about from there is to see improvement. If handling that means going 0-12 this season, can you handle that?
