The U of Miami has to cover starts with banners. I saw three at least

They've covered the 4 upper corners of Sun Life since they moved in.

yeah, 4 banners covering the corner sections of Sun Life.

 

 

but if anyone has a tarp can cover all sections of an upper deck, they should contact the AD at USF. I'm sure it'll be put to good use after tonight's debacle.

It's a recent development.  We are "permanently" reducing capacity for the regular season college games, unless it involves the Gators and their demands for more than 30K tickets to be allotted.

 

Lots of folks are trying to talk to Shalala about on-campus improvements.  It's funny, because at least one thing has transpired that gives me reason to believe that UM is clearing a footprint on campus to build something sizeable.

 

Anyhow, I think that nobody wants to comment until the NCAA case is over.  However, our AD has finally agreed to put an indoor practice facility onto the wish list, which is a major step forward, particularly since we have so many issues with lightning.

 

Look, we're damned if we do, we're damned if we don't.  We have 8,000 full-time undergrads who pay the Athletic Fee (part-timers, grads, law, and med don't have to pay), so if we build a smaller stadium or reduce capacity, people try to make fun of us.  But then, if we fill the stadium with South Floridians who didn't go to UM, we're accused of having band-wagon fans.

 

Oh well...I'll welcome the haters if we can build a 55K stadium on campus.
