Um, yeah. Aresco will use all of the power of the AAC to force the Power 5 to do things his way.

Anyone care to live in reality?

The p5 is only 5 out of 10 conferences. 50%. Don't see how they can ram this through without the majority of votes.

The "playoff" system is a bowl agreement between five conferences.  The NCAA never voted on the BCS, and will never vote on this playoff system.  The fact that the NCAA allows bowls allows this to happen.  And the P5 have enough votes to do whatever they want anyway.

The ONLY way this is going to be stopped is through the federal government. There are public schools involved and what you have is one set of school admins controlling an enormous amount of money, denying the public schools of 5 conferences left out a chance at competing. The threat of government intervention was the reason that the playoffs came about and the P5 ADs have appeared to have forgotten that the whole idea was better access to non-BCS schools to the championship. What is needed is a Czar appointed to straighten this mess out and make it fair for all involved.

The non-BCS schools now have 4 chances to access the championship as compared to 2 before ... That is better access, isn't it? .... and it never has been, and never will be, fair for all involved.

Are they guaranteed or if the 5 ADs decide they don't have a good enough team do Power 5 teams take the spots?

We live in a free country, and our economy is based on capitalism.  If you want "fair" for all involved, you want communism.  With capitalism, everyone is free to make whatever agreements they wish.

I want teams to play into the playoffs and not have it chosen by TV audiences and ADs. Call me a communist.

The 4 "chances". How many times will the 5 Power ADs decide that the other conferences don't deserve the 4 slots and Power 5 teams do?

99.9% of the time .... but .1% of 4 is still greater than .1% of 2 so the chance is better.

Just noticed this in the original article from the BM ...

The committee also will be responsible for pairing the teams in the four New Year's bowl games that are not hosting the national semifinals.

So this means that is being taken out of the hands of those individual bowls that aren't tied to conferences?
