http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9485441/college-football-playoff-selection-committee-include-ads-sources-say

"The "working concept" is to have one athletic director representing each of the five power conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC), sources said. It is unknown whether any current athletic directors from the remaining conferences (American, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt) would be on the committee".

When you have AD'S and a ton of money involved along with ESPN you know that those NOT in the so called Power 5 will be excluded.

Aresco, Doug this is where you need to step up and earn your money.  Time to fight the EVIL EMPIRE!!!

Agree, We better not be taking this in the Arse.  Not sure how much we can do unfort at this point,(this is all part of the master plan by ESPN) But Its Aresco's job to make sure the conference is included.  Its Doug's job to make sure that We do our part within the conference and to hold ARESCO accountable..  If either are not doing their job than they need to explain, and or be replaced.

Aresco has a difficult job, he came in at a horrible time, He has stabilized the conference, and he got us a TV deal(not a good one, but what TV dictated), at least its a short contract, not like the other conferences.  I also don't see him as the AD for the long term.. When all is said and done don't be surprised to see him take a job with ESPN or another TV network.   When Aresco first took the job his goal was to stabilize, get a tv deal, add teams, keep the BE history, the records, Madison Garden, and Access to the playoffs.   He gave away the BE history, and Garden but accomplished the rest .  Time will tell if the playoff access is still on the table.

Um, yeah.  Aresco will use all of the power of the AAC to force the Power 5 to do things his way.

Anyone care to live in reality?

The p5 is only 5 out of 10 conferences. 50%. Don't see how they can ram this through without the majority of votes.

Because of ESPN and the peanut money they are willing to throw to the Non power 5.   Each conference will make money from the bowl games and Playoffs, unfort those not in the Power 5 wont make near as much but still more than they did before.

ESPN owns all but 2-3 of the bowls and the new playoffs.

Yeah, he can have one of the member school art departments make picket signs. Like what exactly is he supposed to do about? Be real people.

The ONLY way this is going to be stopped is through the federal government. There are public schools involved and what you have is one set of school admins controlling an enormous amount of money, denying the public schools of 5 conferences left out a chance at competing. The threat of government intervention was the reason that the playoffs came about and the P5 ADs have appeared to have forgotten that the whole idea was better access to non-BCS schools to the championship. What is needed is a Czar appointed to straighten this mess out and make it fair for all involved.

The non-BCS schools now have 4 chances to access the championship as compared to 2 before ... That is better access, isn't it? .... and it never has been, and never will be, fair for all involved.
