@gregauman: Since many have asked, former Arkansas QB Brandon Mitchell says USF coaches "haven't shown any interest" as he chooses school for this fall.

Interesting .....So apparently CWT and crew aren't scouring the universe for qb transfer.

That's bewildering. According to previous posts, he had talked to USF coaches and he was "very interested" in USF. Either he's not telling the truth or Coach T's got something up his sleeve.

He was very interested in USF and called the USF coaches.  They talked to him politely, but clearly weren't interested.  Where is the confusing part?

The confusing part is why, when our QBs are underwhelming and we've yet to nail down another transfer, there would be no interest in this kid. Are we that confident that we get Bench?

The confusing part to me is why they wouldn't be interested.

Mitchell has definitely spoken to the coaches though. But perhaps the interest just wasn't that mutual.

I can only assume that CWT and the rest of the staff have mapped out a long term strategy on our QB issue..

Might have a strong verbal from Bench or  CWT thought there would be too much of a learning curve for only one season.

We should know something in the next two weeks...Pins and Needles time...

I think you might be projecting a little too much order into what is generally a very chaotic situation. However, when you say that Taggart may feel that the learning curve is too steep for just a one-year guy, I think you've probably hit the nail on the head. The story coming out of Arkansas is he didn't get the job because he wasn't learning and mastering the offense quickly enough.

I still think that could be a mistake though, to discount him for that reason. As a coach you should be able to build the system up to the talent, and he has significant talent.

I'll combine them both.  He's a one year guy that they don't expect to learn quickly.  They stunt the growth of whoever has a chance, and still don't win a lot of games.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
