I wonder if Steve realizes how up until ECU's invite their fans have been up in arms how a "community college" got into the Big East and they did not. Their wounds were opened even more when we (unfortunately) took their coach from them. They actually feel that they are SEC or at least ACC material. I guess it depends which side of the fence you are on.

I have always had issues with them but will only focus on happenings since the 2003 invite to the Big East. I never understood the constant put down of other schools which moved up (with special hatred for USF) instead of focusing on how they could improve the perception of their product.

Based on his comment, I don't think Steve even realizes that "a team from tampa at giant university" had already been in the same conference with ECU ...

 

And, if you really think about it, their fans had a pretty legit gripe back at that time. We got in the BE for basically the same reason that Rutgers got into the B1G .... location.

I think the only team which ECU hates worse than USF is Louisville. Louisville fought the good and honorable fight to keep those rodents out of CUSA years ago and recently tried to keep them from joining what was still the Big East.
