Say, does anybody know if it's licensing or is it something else that prevents USF from selling old football games on DVD?

I'd love to get games from the early days.

I've looked but none are found through USF.

I just now tried the Oklahoma Sooners site and they have our 2002 game.

And we can get that game on DVD --from OU, not from USF!

I wish they would, but may not be worth it, and might not have the rights hypothetically.

I'd love a dozen or so if the old games on DVD.

I would love a copy of the first game ever.

Few years ago(seasons running together) the Bulls gave Season Ticket Holders a DVD , not sure what is on it, never opened it(put it in my collectible cabinet) but I thought it was highlights of the Bulls first game  AND or first few seasons.  I dont want to open it to find out , but you could call the athletic office and Im sure they would know whats on it, and they may have some extra's laying around.

Just a thought.

Not enough demand is my guess.

They made the video of the win over FSU available. Nothing else.

I have that one..."USF Football  10 Years", and the much rarer "USF vs Kansas - USF WNIT Champions - April 2009"

I also have "Green & Gold a Half Century of USF - A Retrospective on 50 Years of the University of South Florida" by WUSF

Was the first game ever actually televised? If so, the local station could have a copy (of course I am ignoring copyright/legal issues). I am surprised a fan did not record the game.

I wonder the cost for USF to make them. Probably not enough demand to make it affordable to the average Joe.

The first game, first win over Pitt,.05 vs Louisville, Auburn, a couple West Virginia games, FSU, Notre Dame. That's 8 I'd think most season ticket holders would purchase.

Oklahoma sells the game with USF at $24.95.

To put it in perspective, I think our fans would whine over a $24.95 tape of a win over Elon - and/or just not buy.

I don't know what the sales volume was on the USF - FSU DVD, but I can ask someone at USF.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
