Some people believe that Anthony Woullard's high school career was not what it could/should have been because of the coaches holding him back

and that they held him back because he committed to USF.

Where would he be if he was at a different high school?

Would he be in the Elite 11?

Would he still be at USC?

I think with the potential he showed at the Elite 11 AND a different high school, that he probably would have probably would have had even more exposure and more opportunities for college.

So, the discussion is, how much does a kids high school coach have to do with college exposure?

coaches get paid to win football games.

they do what gives them the best chance to win. they feature their best players. they do not get paid to sabotage a kids career. that will likely lead to getting fired if that player is their best as it would result in more losses.

anybody who thinks a coach held a kid back because they didn't want him to go to USF is paranoid and delusional. you probably believe in outlandish conspiracies as well.

first off the kid had already committed to USF. Him not playing only helped USF. it limited his exposure and risk of injury.

Second the only way to get him to decommitt would be to get enough exposure that he would sign elsewhere.they would be better off playing him more both to win and to get him away from USF.

I love how the fanboys ran with some conspiracy this kids father posted to a message board. Most parents complain that a coach isn't using little johnny boy enough. It made no logical sense at all.

Anyone who believes this post has never seen what happens at the high school level first hand, from an adult perspective.  High school sports is all about politics and making themselves feel important, which is why most of these coaches never move up the coaching chain.  I've seen it over, and over, and over again.  Being a high school coach making $3,000/year is not such a highly coveted job that there are hundreds of highly qualified applicants lining up to compete for these jobs.  The public schools take what they can get.

anyone who believes a parent on a message board should have their head examined.

go to a little league field. you'll see parents complain that the coaches never play little johnny enough. or that he should be pitching instead of playing left field. or he should bat 4th instead of 9th. you're basing your entire theory on something a parent posted. of course he thinks the coaches aren't using little johnny properly.

again why would they sabotage their career just to keep this kid from signing with USF.  sitting him benefitted USF (he couldn't get hurt and he wouldn't get attention from others). he was already committed to us. your argument lacks any coherent logic.

if there was truly a conspiracy here it would be that the son of a high ranking college football employee at espn somehow got a recruit that was rated 28th best dual threat into a skills competition without having to qualify like the other 25+ competitors had to.

**** you, stop trying to make it look like AW's season stats aren't the result of foul play! Alan Woodward is a god **** miracle worker!
