Won't happen as long as they count toward bowl eligibility.

My reaction to this is hopefully we can schedule more B10 teams now.

Big Ten should be able to easily replace those team with teams outside the Power 5 conferences.  With the dramatic difference in revenue making an even sharper divide  the teams outside of the power 5 will soon be about as competitive as an FCS program to a power 5 team.

They have to because their conference scheduled is perceived to be much weaker than at least two and maybe three of the other 5 conferences.  They don't want strength of schedule to keep their teams out of the playoffs.

 

We, on the other hand, are looking for bowl eligibility and conference championships.  The day that we, or the Big East champion, goes undefeated and gets left out of the playoffs will be when you might see a change.
