Oldsmobull Posted January 9, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 19 Content Count: 791 Reputation: 44 Days Won: 3 Joined: 09/02/2009 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Coach Wiener bugging out after only one day got me wondering if the USF athletic dept routinely uses formal psychological testing when interviewing and evaluating candidates for open USF coaching positions, especially big ticket coaches being paid the big bucks like head bkb and football coaches. Without using psychological testing, how can USF athletics be sure it is hiring psychopaths who will do whatever it takes to win, no matter what! Then maybe move to nutjob testing. Of course, those intimidated by leadership, bravado, ability and passion should not be administering the tests, else you'd have some nutjob using it to diminish someone else. If a good example comes to mind, I'll provide it. :wink

These tests will not find if someone will quit or not. They match position traits to personal traits. They measure things like ego strenght, ego drive, Assertiveness, aggressiveness, empathy, risk taking, urgency, cautiosness, abstract reasoning, idea orientation, self structure, extrnal structure, ccomodation, etc. They find out the persons personal attributes, the things that make them who they are and how they carry out their tasks and prioritze things, and match them to the core functions of the job. There is no way to say, this guy might have second thoughs from the outcomes of theses tests. Good question, but you took it way to far in the execution of the testing. Here is some info on from one of the industry leaders in this assessment tool: https://www.calipercorp.com/How-We-Can-Help-You/Hiring-Selection Ivan, the resident HR Director.
