The USFL DID work...until Trump got involved, then when Bassett (owner of the bandits that fought to stay in the Spring) died, Trump took control and tried to complete with the NFL in the Fall. They were developing quite the following in the Spring. Had they stayed there, IMO they would still exist. Yes, I know it did and I believe it would still be around if they had remained in the spring as well. But, that is exactly my point, a new league could not compete head to head with the NCAA. So, would a new college league be relegated to playing in the spring as well in order to survive?

The USFL and the XFL think it would work. I agree with WoolyBully, winning cures everything. And, if we had been doing more of that the past few years, we could be in a much better position.

There have been alot of great moments in USF history already. Unfortunately, the last couple of years have not contained many of them. We began the downward spiral at the worst possible time given all the conference realignments going on. I'm hoping CWT brings some excitement and respect back to the program! After that, we will see where we go. I just want to take care of things on the field for a change and everything else will work itself out.

Sounds like it would be a solid choice to me. He has had success at the college level, and we can definitely use some help at the DB position as well.

Going to be a hard sell to get recruits on defense in here with no staff in place. Hopefully some news breaks soon and CWT can start to load up the bus.

I've been wondering myself if CWT was going to try to go the NFL route. With both Harbaughs and their staffs still involved in the season, hopefully that is why we haven't heard much?? I'm just hoping that it's not because we have fallen THAT far.
