The money is going to follow them (and BYU) no matter what conference they pick. If they pick the Mountain West, lo and behold, a new tv deal with more money. Likewise for the Big East. What it comes down to is non-monetary considerations: home tv rights, blue uniforms on blue turf, all sports conference vs football only, AQ for 2013, etc.

If our conference looked like this: 1.UConn 2.Temple 3.Cincy 4.USF 5.UCF (2013) 6.SMU (2013) 7.Houston (2013) 8.Memphis (2013) 9.Tulane (2014) 10.ECU (2014) 11.Ohio (2015-hypothetically) 12.Navy (2015) IMO, Boise would add to our tv deal, not detract. But, would it be earth-shatteringly different if they didn't come? I'm not an expert, but I don't think it would be. We have 2 TV markets in central Florida, 2 Texas schools that have some history behind them, 2 Ohio schools, and a 'national' team in Navy. With basketball we have UConn, Temple, Cincy, USF, Memphis, and Ohio which made the tournament last year. Research... I don't know where any of these schools rank when it pertains to research or if it is even worthwhile sharing research money like the Big 10. My guess is USF, Cincy, and Tulane do pretty well but for the others, no so much.
