Seems like a good fit?

His name got thrown around last time too. played for the bucs, started his career at usf and moved to wv, but in recent years has hopped around a bit, though thats mainly due to firings at the hc position. Been in the biz a long time but never as hc.

I'd love to see him back here, and from what I remember he REALLY wanted to come back the last time we did this...

Anyone got any info on how his offense is doing in AZ? Is it the same spread Rich Rod ran at WV?

He has been on the Rich Rod circuit for over a decade now. If nothing else the man knows offense.

Rich Rod's system, same as it ever was. Top ten in YPG, top 25 in TDs.

I think his offense would be a perfect fit in Conference USA 2.0 but that's not necessarily a good thing. The average Arizona game ends up being 37-34 and that's what I think would start happening here: we score a mess of points, but so does the other team. Working with Rich Rod so long, I'm not convinced he brings in a lockdown defensive coordinator. My fear is that every game ends up being a shootout and we get squashed by every team that plays defense. I get the feeling that we'll be able to build an offense similar to what we had in 2007, but not the same caliber defense we used to have a reputation for. It is a plus that he has ties to the program and the area, though.
