Did you hear Lou Holtz at halftime? Making excuses as to the third string quarterback and telling everyone how his son is a winner? Tell me again how your son is a winner Lou! Maybe you better look at his dismal record for the last two years. Yeah, if I made observations like that, I'd be worrying about losing my job at ESPN too! Pathetic!

As a father, you don't rip into your son on national TV. You could tell he practiced that bit a couple times.

He's a father sticking up for his son.

Son or not, you don't lie about facts! The fact is his son has a losing record here! That does not make you a winner! Sounds like Lou needs a job in Washington with Obama!

I like how he said he won at Uconn, and won big at East Carolina, and will win wherever he coaches. What was most interesting is he never said he would win at USF specifically. I believe its because he knows he said can't win here.

I think Lou knows his son is catching heat, but will defend him blindly (see Skip's terrible run as South Carolina's OC).

Picked up on that as well. Writing is on the wall. He is all but gone.

I hope that you don't ever father a child. BTW, Obama won, deal with it. Since you're new here, I'll give you directions to the madcow board; go WAY to the right and you'll find it.------------------------------------------------------------------------->

This is just silly... of course Lou is going to speak positively about his son and Skip has been a very successful coach in the past. The more I watch the effort of the new guys (compared to that of those recruited by the previous administration) the more I start to think Lou might have a point....

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
