I just watched the ESPN 30 for 30. I was more amazed at the history and competitiveness of the Southwest conference than the scandal. What can we expect from this fan base as it enters the Big East? A rejuvenated base that pumps money (legally and ethically) into the program/university or will we see about the same amount of enthusiasm from their current CUSA days?

Anyone live in Dallas? What's the feel like or is it Cowboys 24/7?

I'm really happy about the SMU addition. Prob best academics in Big East and a football program that reminds me of ours... seems to have a tremendous ceiling.

Houston was very good too in the late 70's and early 80's. It was not called conference realignment back then but SMU and Houston really got screwed, TCU and Rice did too but they were not very good by that time. I think Baylor, thanks to Ann Richards made out like bandits.

Back then, SMU played most home games in Texas Stadium while Houston played in the Astrodome.
