Leavitt had to go to, he could not get us over the hump either, just because Holtz seemed to be the wrong choice does not mean Jimbo would be the right choice. Neither is right for USF.

Holtz was qualified to get a BCS job, at the time he was the best USF could get. He was a solid coach in CUSA who had some big wins vs BCS schools and multiple championships. He was offered the job at Cuse but turned it down. The guy would have got a job at another BCS school if not USF.

While you are absolutely correct on this point as far as most pundits think, a lot of us did not buy into it. I have not been vocal about Holtz because I recognized he was entering into a tough situation. Well, that is over now.

The defense left before Leavitt did. Don't confuse Wally Burnham with Jim Leavitt.

I cannot go with fire Skip, but my God has he screwed up our defense. Offense is getting better, but I always cherished our defense. What do we have 2 sacks and 2 stopped 3rd and long. If I was FSU I would take a knee on the 1st two downs to set up third a long.

I did think at the end of the game though "wonder if we can get CJL back".

I've read this board off and on for a few years now and you've always had a hard-on for Leavitt. Does he remind you of one of the guys that used to kick the crap out of you in high school?
