usf needs to win whenever gamesare scheduled

Schools don't have a choice. League doesn't call up USF and say "Are you interested in playing on a Thursday night?" If they did, USF wouldn't have done it this past week. Any open week is available for use in maximizing TV deal for Big East and its schools.

This is the statistic that is now being erroneously reported regularly. USF is 1-10 all-time in Thursday games. The only time we won a Thursday game was August 29, 2002. USF - 51, Florida Atlantic - 10. We are 0-9 since that time. I believe the other game that is not cited is a loss to Northern Illinois (17 - 20) on 08/30/2001.

So no extra bucks? Just something we have to do. If they re-sign with ESPN we can look forward to more of the same.

It would be interesting to see if NBC, should they get the contract, tries to go head to head with ESPN on weeknights. If so, ESPN might have to throw the ACC teams out there to compete.

It would be interesting to see if NBC, should they get the contract, tries to go head to head with ESPN on weeknights. If so, ESPN might have to throw the ACC teams out there to compete.

ESPN's new contract with the PAC-12 Gives them a lot of access to Thursdays. Along with the ACC.

The Big East only has 2 Thursday slots this year.
