Are we that deep at 2? Javontae can play three and Rudds is much better at 3-4 then the 2. So that leaves us with Jawanza and Noriega. Also musa, who looks like ac's main backup.

Either way, when you have a scholly available, I think you try as hard for a top 100 player.

Looks like Larry Brown is pursuing former #Miami signee Melvin Johnson. Would be another great add to the 2012 #SMU hoops class.

Villanova, SMU, VCU and South Florida in mix for former Miami signee Melvin Johnson, St. Benedict's coach Mark Taylor tells @SNYtv

Gotta think we're in good position for him. Wasn't it between us G-Town and Xavier?

Ok, stupid question but I follow basketball but am far from an expert.

Can someone please explain what 1, 2, 3, etc mean?

I know the positions but not sure what the numbers relate to (shooting guard, guard, small forward, power forward and center)

Thx

It's fairly easy once you hear it.

1= Point Guard

2= Shooting Guard

3= Small Forward

4= Power Forward

5= Center

Those are your traditional numbered positions.

Well you might say we have depth at the 2 right this moment.....I can see that knee jerk reaction.....but aside from Hawkins with 4 years of eligibility and Musa Abdul Aleem with 3 years....you will only have one more season with Noriega and Poland (possibly Rudd if he gets his wish to leave early).

You have 2 more years with Brock.

So it's not like we can forget about the position. Plus you always have to worry about injuries.

Guys, you don't have to believe what I'm saying, but USF isn't pursuing him.

Not smart, IMO. But, oh well.

IF that's the case it would be asinine for USF not to pursue Johnson unless there is something other then supposedly, "being stacked at guard," that we don't know about. There aren't many highly touted shooters available for a school like USF to have a chance at getting.

When this first came out I went to the Miami board to see what they were saying. It seems that he didn't show up for summer school as promised and the BB coach was really pissed off. Perhaps, Heath doesn't want to deal with that.

    We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
