Good quick read. His comments on the BE as a conference are pretty humurous....what is he going to say that the conference he plays in sucks or that he prays for an invite to the ACC?

Nice to see Coach Holtz introduce that region of the state to football.

Had a good turnout and a great event with Skip, Stan, Doug and former basketball players (including recent USF Hall of Fame inductee Chucky Atkins) all in attendence. They fired up the troops and it looks like the Orlando-area supporters will get more active as USF plants the flag and competes in conference on a regular basis in O-Town. Thanks to all who attended and, to those who didn't, see you next time.

Actually, under Holtz, we have had much more success recruiting Orlando than Tampa.

I meant to be funny. And failed. Stated another way, "how nice for that region to hear a real football coach".

That area is a Gator hotbed ... I'm sure Spurrier spoke there on numerous occasions.

I caught it, if it makes you feel better, I just hadn't commented on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
