Landi did not have a catch last game but 14 others did....what was his deal?

You answered your own question, we known Landi can catch the ball no need to get him hurt.

Good time to give the 2nd and 3rd team WR game experience.

I'd tend to buy this, if only Griffin didn't have 8 catches in the game.

He's clearly our best receiver, yet we don't bother to throw the ball to the guys behind him that are starter quality (T-Rex, Landi).

Maybe McFarland needed the reps. I wouldn't worry about it.

Rick Smith had mentioned Quenton having an issue with his knee on Sunday as well, when he talked about wanting better play from Quenton. Said Quenton originally hurt it in Vero and it has lingered since.

According to Smith, just really wanted to give Quenton time to get it healthy for the Big East slate, which is why opted to shut him down this week. Makes sense; I don't think Bulls will have too much trouble with UTEP.

From gousfbulls.com:

WELCOME BACK

Holtz said sophomore JaQuez Jenkins, a safety/corner, and sophomore defensive tackle Demi Thompson are healthy enough to get back into action Saturday.

"I feel good about where we are from an injury standpoint," Holtz said.

Jenkins has been dealing with a hamstring issue since the Notre Dame game.

"To be able to step on the field again and to be with my teammates is just tremendous," Jenkins said after Tuesday's practice.

Landi was definitely in the game. I watched his blocking on several plays--he was very good.  Don't know why he didn't catch a pass--was he even thrown to?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
