USF o-line seeks goal-line improvements

One of the areas where USF’s offense struggled in a season-opening victory at Notre Dame was in goal-line situations, and that fact was not lost on the Bulls big men up front, who termed the performance unacceptable.

Before junior quarterback B.J. Daniels threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Evan Landi to cap an 80-yard drive in the fourth quarter, the USF offense had four snaps from the 2-yard line or closer and five snaps from the 5-yard line or closer and had failed to punch it into the end zone. That doesn’t include the third-down pass play from the 1 when Daniels tried to hit sophomore receiver Sterling Griffin, a play that resulted in a pass interference call and gave USF a fresh set of downs.

“That hurt us, as far as the o-line’s pride,†redshirt freshman right tackle Quinterrius Eatmon said. “It really hurt our pride.â€

Well they should have had 1 more TD. I wouldnt blame them for the failed QB sneak. BJ looked like he expected to just poke his head into their shoulders and he would be in the endzone.

O-Line was a big concern for me coming into the season. I feel mush better as I think Notre Dame has a very good Front Seven.

Expecting to see a great job by our guys up front these next 3 games. We need to dominate!
