What about that transfer 5-star from UF, Dunkley?  He's sitting out this season right?

We ended the year with 4 straight wins. But let's keep in mind that we beat:

Utah - who got blown out in a bowl game and whose biggest win of the year was a tight one over Air Force

Army - who finished 7-6, with their biggest win over a 7-7 SMU team

USC - whose best win was arguably their win over 7-6 Arizona

Miami - whose coach was fired and team was a mess in the bowl game

We probably played only 1 really good team last year in Stanford...and they absolutely crushed us. Michigan St had 1 win last year (Wisconsin) as the Big Televen was HORRIBLE. And they were crushed by Alabama.

not my post but this is how i fell about the upcoming season. Im going into the season with a wait and see attitude. I have no idea what to expect saturday.

Very sensible...most of us are the same way.

Except our "wait and see" is BJ Daniels.  lol

If he's on IT'S ON!!!

:)))

GO BULLS!!!

LOL this post is hilarious!

ND doesn't need to worry about us. Just keep practicing for Michigan. Little old USF will just rollover for you! And after the game we will go lick our wounds with teams like Tulsa. Oh wait...

Yes. Would have loved to have him play this year, but we will be LOADED in 2012 and be a national contender.

Exactly. Nobody ever knows, that's why the game is played.

Yep, that's exactly what I was saying.

Reading comprehension - fail.

How does a team go from one proven WR to 10 in an off-season?

My understanding is your only actually proven WR is Evan Landi, who is a stud FWIW.

After that? Joel Miller and Terrence Mitchell...who are quick but haven't had a lot of experience. Then AJ Love (who missed all of last season and is trying to overcome a pair of torn ACLs) and Sterling Griffin, who also missed all of last year with an injury, right?

An obvous exageration, but as a couple posters have pointed out last with Love and Griffin going down with injuries we basically had one true WR coming back (Bogan), and even he got injured in the Florida game and missed several games last year.  We were starting 2 converted RB's (Lamar and Miller) a converted QB (Landi) and true freshman walk-on (Bravo-Brown).  So not only was BJ trying to learn the system, he was trying to learn it with WR's who were also learning the system, as well as just trying to learn the position.

This year Love and Griffin are back, we have players like Victor Marc and Deonte Welch who have been learning the position since they got here, as well as true freshman standout Andre Davis.  Thats in addition to the returning WR's who now have had a year to learn the sytem and position as well.

Perhaps, he should go look at all of those ESPN Gruden/QB tapes to check them out.  ;)

ND is already favored. We all know that. USF has some weaknesses. Also true. But our confidence comes from the belief in our team and the huge grain if salt that needs to be taken with ND these days. When are they NOT expected to improve every year? Just by being called Norte dame you are BCS team until proven otherwise and the rest of college football has proven otherwise for years.
