I hope we stay on him... He seems like a good kid and he's really down right now.

If he had committed, I know CSH would stay with him.

It's not the same thing when they didn't commit and USF was one of a list of fourteen possible schools.

I say we keep trying to fill our scholarship slots with players that will commit when they're healthy, not because they got injured.  Sad but true and one of the pitfalls of having offers early and not providing a verbal committment to a university.

I'm sure if he got healthy there would probably be a way to work him in with a PWO or gray shirt.

No doubt.

Alex Mut gave us an early verbal and then tore his ACL and we stuck with him.

Under, Leavitt we stuck with some players who tore their ACL during the season. The last one I remember was a DT who Monte Kiffen stole away from us at UTenn. Don't know whatever hapened to him.

I really feel for this young man. I think the recruiting "game" that is being proffered to these kids is damaging and dangerous. This may be the perfect example. This talented young man was whittling his interests down to 20 teams and then 14 teams and now he is getting calls from Temple, Killer U and Marshall. Someone told him to gamble and the dice came up snake eyes. I am not saying we shouldn't stick with our offer, but I really feel like this shows what the downside is to playing a game of chicken with a educational opportunity and a possible NFL career may be. So many of these kids that play the game wind up in some Midwest cornfield in February wondering wtf they were thinking.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
