On the subject of top in-state players, even last place DePaul was able to sign 4-star HS point guard Shane Larkin out of Orlando this past year (had offers from USF plus other ACC, SEC plus offers)...as in deciding to sign with DePaul early (especially considering their turbulent coaching situation) which was somewhat of a surprise.

And yes, his dad is former MLB star Barry Larkin.

Wonder if Oliver Purnell used Caldwell to help land Larkin.

Nah, UCF has won the bidding war to secure Caldwell's services.  He and Bender received those wonderful fat envelops from O'Liar and Jones.

Hard for USF to compete for kids in-state when for it's raining money in Oviedo for recruits and runners.
