Does this mean he doesn't need to get a hardship?

Muy transfers to South Florida

By The Associated Press

TAMPA, Fla.  Former Nebraska offensive lineman Danny Muy and ex-Miami wide receiver Cedric Hill, have transferred to South Florida for the 2005 season, the school announced Wednesday.

Muy, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound native of Tallahassee, Fla., did not play as a freshman at NU in 2004 and will seek an NCAA waiver to become eligible for next season. He transferred to South Florida to be closer to his ill mother in Tallahassee, the USF release said.

The 6-foot-3 Hill, a Valdosta, Ga. native, is immediately eligible after he was released from his letter earlier last year and sat out the 2004 season.

South Florida, 4-7 last season, will join the Big East Conference this fall.

Muy needs a hardship waiver to play immediately.

Hill does not need any waiver as he never enrolled at Miami.

Don't wanna jinx it, but I heard the waiver should be easy for him to get.   :-X

You get five years to play four seasons after ENROLLING in college. Since Hill never enrolled, the clock didn't start. He is just like any other true freshman. In Muy's case, since he spent time as a student at Nebraska he will have to transfer. Normally he'd have to sit out a year for going to another I-A school, but he's trying to get a hardship waived. Which I'm not convinced will happen.

This is in referenceto the well-known USF "NCAA committe ruling" curse.  Has our beloved Bulls ever rec'd a positive decision from the NCAA's?

No, I just think Muy's case is highly unconvincing. He isn't being preventing from enrolling in USF or being near his ill mother (as if Tallahassee were even close to Tampa), he just can't play in a game for one season.

But you never can tell with the NCAA's Random Ruling Committee.

There is a political aspect to the process, to be sure.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
