Ha ha.  Hey Triple B.. I talk to a few people who work with in director positions about this issue and so far I know of only one person who is extremely passionate on this issue... Do you know if there is more conversation about this from any of the high level USF people or is it only a few passionate high level USF faculty trying to spread the word.

I mistyped that..but I think you understood my question.  Is there a lot of talk on this topic or is it only coming from a few passionate USF faculty/directors/etc

UCF just has a lot of acres to work with that has made expansion easier on and off campus. The perimeter roads of campus is still 'rural' in comparison with USF to make some of those projects possible(county zoning, etc). McCullough Rd and old Lockwood/Tanner road are are mostly just student apartments and houses and are not major routes to get around Orlando(both roads are dead ends), you are pretty much in Oviedo. Alafaya/University will be the center of activity in front of the main entrance of campus. With USF, the perimeter roads like Bruce B Downs are more major routes in Tampa so I would think some projects are more of a challenge. You are not going to tell University Hospital or that assisted living place to move. For the record the Village idea was Oleary's

I can't even remember what the name of that bar was on the north end of the "L" of that plaza back in 2002 when I was at UCF, but I remember some good times there, and plenty of hot bitches. An elevated crosswalk over Alafaya would be so money, even with a perfectly sober DD driving 3 or 4 drunkies home (across the street to the frat house area and Lake Claire), it was a tense time because the campus cops were pretty nazi.

a lot of places changed names but let me take a guess I might be wrong on the name Knight Lights(now Knight Library)? I heard that place went through a bunch of names till Knight Library finally gave that spot stability  ;D

yeah, that was it. i knew it had knight in it somewhere. it changed names at one point and got really ghetto. one of my room mates used to do open mic night in the little bar in the corner, that was pretty chill.

i also spent alot of time at the pub i think. the one next to subway that eventually caught on fire a few years ago.

ucf is definitely blessed with their location having more open land to deal with. they definitely had a plan too. when i first got there, the inner "circular" roads were all accessible by car, and now they're mostly walkways i think. there's only like two places in the US that have that design (forget the name) but it really makes campuses look nice and keeps things from getting to spread out.

The new USF polytechnic campus over in auburndale/lakeland is supposed to be built much more with expansion in mind and perimeter roads.
