If your product isn't putting butts in the seats then you're overpaid.

Your yard stick for coaching needs to be recalibrated. BIS is a result of creative scheduling coupled with a fan base that believes in traditions and a chance to be competitive in all games. Tampa on the other hand is a band wagon town. There is only interest if the product is challenging for a championship.  And being more specific, the Tampa and FL economy has not been conduciive to the casual fan walking up to RayJay to drop over $100 for the family to take in a FB game.

How many coaches earned their keep this year?

I'd say Holtz, Strong, Edsall, Marrone and Stewart did.

Right now Skip seems overpaid with his salary compared to the rest of the league.

WTF? He's been here 1 year and is playing with a roster full of players that weren't his pick, and he still exceeded expectations.

If anyone is overpaid it's Schiano. He's been there 10 years and has been plateaued (or sinking) for longer than we were under Leavitt.

People always say "he doesn't have his players" do you think Leavitt had his?  You don't think Leavitt would've rather signed a Cam Newton over BJ or AJ Green over AJ Love, etc?  Skip won't get any of those guys either, because they'd rather go to big time programs.

Leavitt wanted a dual threat qb and a host of speedy skill players.  Holtz wants a game manager qb, a powerful Oline and other blockers ( TE, HBack ), and downhill runners.

No one is referring to the caliber of player they are talking about a roster that is filled out for the style of football the respective coach wants to play.

I understand that, I'm just saying, when you aren't a big time big money program, you never get the players you really want, you get their leftovers.  Whether Skip can win more consistently with those leftovers is what will be the important issue. Lets hope so.

So, what's your excuse for all the empty seats that are paid for or comped (distributed vs BIS)?

but all "leftovers" are not equal.  you can be a 2nd tier player cause youre not big enough or because youre not fast enough or because your not very football smart, or for any variety of reasons.  when evaluating the skill sets of "leftover" recruits their is a type that will be better suited for the offensive system Holtz is running which is going to be a bigger more phsyical style.  hence Holtz does not have his players.
