He is NOT being forced out. He is "considering" retiring. But it is all speculation at this point. No way Rich Wad goes back...both sides burnt too many bridges.

Stewart seemed grouchy and bizzare ever since recruiting season last year.  He hasn't seemed very happy and obviously they aren't very happy with him.  He will probably leave if they offer him a decent buyout which they will if they have a decent option for a new coach.

Coach Stewart tweeted "Reports of my retirement are exaggerated ... I have no intention of walking away ... I am not focusing on retirement ... Focus is Rutgers."

Hehe that reminds me of:

I know it has been a while since he coached in Division I, but I think this would at least have to be the potential to be a great hire for West Virginia, if they really did make this rumored move. If they had the opportunity to do it, I would think they should offer Stewart a fair buyout.

But I also don't know the circumstances surrounding Bowden's resignation at Auburn, I know he was known for having some discipline issues with his players I believe.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
