How does it work with a tie? If both Cuse and USF end up at 5-2...wouldn't Cuse get the nod as they beat us head to head?

Provided Pitt beats WVU in the Backyard Brawl, finishing at 5-2 for USF would mean Pitt would be 5-2 as well. 3-way tie where all teams beat each other (head-to-head tie breaker would go in an infinite circle) so the next tie breaker would likely be highest BCS ranking. Winning out would likely make us the highest BCS ranked team of the 3 and give us the BCS invite

If it's just those two then we would be co-champions and Cuse goes to the BCS bowl ...
